    Oh yes it is high. But I'm sort of use to 30 an HI. On my meter. I've been drinking water I'm in bed I did the stick thing it's only at 1+ for ketone but of course the highest for sugars. I'll have my insulin tomorrow morning. I read the dka thread that was a bit scary. But very good...

    Oh thank you azure I'll look at that.... really can things deteriorate quickly. Hard to imagine I feel so good. But I totally believe what you are saying... I'll also fill on my endocrinologist this weds too re my new plan I'm trialing and hoping it will work. Tho that's probably my denile at play.

    I definitely feel fine so far. I'm drinking water now too ditched the coke....of course going toilet an thirsty is part n parcel with high sugars. But I feel ok. At least I'll go to bed at least not worried like I do with low sugars.... what should I look out for re symptoms re this dka Azure?

    Yes it is definitely alot to learn and trial for yourself and to accept I think is the hardest part. It's not nice knowing you are stuck with insulin for ever or you die. So it's a bit of a huge adjustment for sure. Thank you

    I'm in new Zealand. My bs is 28.8. And I'm getting the blood ketone strips tomorrow from the chemist. I feel fine I'm fine. Certainly better than a 4 an having a hypo. Tomorrow I'll be drinking water and eating eggs bacon. Having my 4 units of basal an see how go. Thank you for your advice...

    I noticed most people have between 80g and 150g. That seems alot. I have always done 20-50g. Nothing to do with diabetes I use to do Atkins years ago and have stuck to that on and off. Tho I don't really count veges as there healthy.... I do include fruit tho... an that's from an Atkins carb...

I will ask the endocrinologist on the 10th re info on carb counting too. How do you mean "when" to bolus and "how" much? I was on 3 apidra each meal time...

    I'll start tomorrow but I won't change my basal from 4 units yet an I'll continue with no bolus for a few days anyway just to see how 30grams of low carb will go on only 4 units basal... I suspect I'll have to raise it to 6 in a few days but while I'm on 4 I may as well go up slowly and see what...

I wouldn't say I over eat but I have gone back to eating carbs like bread rice pasta potatoes chips etc that I gave up for a long time... I haven't told my dn as yet but I see her and the endocrinologist 10th August... I will fill them...
