What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I forgot to post. It was 6.6 this morning after a shocking 7.9 last night. I know what it was. I couldn’t resist the left over mix of fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries last night. I obviously ate too many- while persuading myself that they were healthy! Self delusional.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I seem to remember that SIL dried loads of mushrooms too. We have an enormous bag of dried chillis that she gave me too. As they’re the hottest of the hot, I probably couldn’t eat them in this lifetime.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I once bought dried raspberries for a meringue dessert I wanted to make. The flavour was quite concentrated. Lovely. I think the whole dehydrated meal idea is rather kept to things like bolognaise sauce and meat/veg stew. Simple to rehydrate and eat with rice/pasta.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I looked into those ages ago when we thought of it as a present for No2 daughter who loves to camp in isolated places. I checked on all kinds of camping websites to see what people were saying about them. But we then found that she had one already. They dry whole meals and then re-hydrate in the...

Our guests leave today so I will go on a few days of simpler food and no wine!! Last night’s evening with bbq food for 4 snowballed and we ended up being 9 eating and chatting along the veranda. It was mostly the ones who couldn’t make it for OH’s birthday so kind of the second half of the...

Me too! That’s why I haven’t dared to even try any of the chocolate that everyone talks about. I look at it in the supermarket, but manage not to buy it. I know it would be too dangerous.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I’ve always sliced and frozen our bread. It works really well. When No3 daughter was at school, she took her lunch of 2 slices frozen seed bread made with whatever filling she wanted. (Ditto OH) It kept the sandwich cool in the heat, and by the time she came to eat it it was a fresh tasty...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I have found LC sliced bread and ‘rolls’ very thin and already sliced and better toasted. They tasted quite nutty, not eggy, the former with lots of linseed. It isn’t the bulk as such, but they make very good ‘carriers’ for the smoked fish/cheese etc. I used to enjoy baking sourdough bread...

6.6 for me this morning. It’s up again, but the average is going down. I have to get back to the gym and walk more again.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@jjirak. We’ve been lucky with our countries. Only the last one was awful. Most of the others were places that people like to go on holiday. My first country (pre OH) was Thailand for 2 years. I loved it so much that I’ve never gone back. I think it would be a let down, it’s changed so much. I...

That’s hysterical- hotel guests in pjs at breakfast. They’ve obviously not been let out very often before. :))) We lived near the M6/M56 junction for about 6 years (longer ago than I like to remember). Warrington was one of the nearer shopping centres. I remember being in a store there (probably...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this morning. I was quite surprised considering the Cava and red wine that I had last night. Or maybe the glucose is just pickled. Or me. It’s a dull grey day- perfect for some mattress contemplation. But we have guests arriving for a couple of nights tomorrow - beds to make, chores to do...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Yes she knows now and can see from the vantage of 14 years later that it would not have been a good idea to stay there. We started the party on the veranda, and some of the more hardy ones ate outside, but by the time the sun went down it was too cold and they moved inside. I think it went...

Yes I think you’re right gennepher. I was quite pleased when he said that I could come back in two years, but thinking about it later, that’s taking too much of a risk. Our insurance will pay for it anyway, so it would be silly not to have the check ups. Thanks for your imput.
