    Low-Carbohydrate Diets and All-Cause Mortality:

I can accept the statement that the diet that works is the diet that works. It did for you, Ian, and that is excellent. I do not need to go down your path so why should I? The diet that works best for me is not the one that works for you, it's the one that works for me. You need to accept that...

    Low-Carbohydrate Diets and All-Cause Mortality:

Rabherself It would be helpful for you to give a link to the report on American v. Asians. Of course the terminology "Asians" does not necessarily mean the same to us Brits as it does in the USA so perhaps you can tell us the actual nationality of the Asians you are referring to. I am pleased...

    Driving Licence Suspended

Hi all Just a quick question from my ignorance. I have just looked at the guidance notes for filling out the DVLA form about diabetes. The notes say that, having admitted to hypos (to avoid being suspected of not being hypo aware), they then require to know how many severe hypos you have had...

    Low-Carbohydrate Diets and All-Cause Mortality:

Ian The thread is moving on and you are contributing to that. I do not see why the contributions of others who are also moving the thread on should be off topic and need a fresh thread. The forum would be deluged with tiny, half discussed threads if we took that line. Hoping you understand...

    Does Metformin Make a Difference?

Hi Lauren Weight loss is something for you to look at. That, in addition to getting better blood sugar levels, could be pointing to one of the more recent medications such as liraglutide, exenatide or dapagliflozin as they all have an effect on weight as well as blood sugar. Hope this helps Doug

    Low-Carbohydrate Diets and All-Cause Mortality:

One of the main findings of the work that Sid brought to the attention of the Forum is that more research is needed. I would hope that we could all agree that such research would increase our knowledge so that we can make the best decisions about managing our diabetes. Regards Doug

    Paul Bailey AA Discrimination

Re: Discrimination Paul Victimisation for exercising your rights under the Equality Act is also something that you can take to an Emplyment Tribunal. For any Tribunal the lack of disciplinary action against a discriminatory manager would act for you as it is evidence that they are not taking...

Joycegill An HbA1c of 41 is just below 6 and is a good reading to have. My HbA1c readings are usually at that level and I do not have hypos. What were your meter readings and how we're they related to food intake and exercise? Trying to help Doug Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

No test strips or lancets on the NHS?!!!

I do not test very often as by now (some 15 years) I know the effect that various goods have on me. I do test if feeling out of sorts in case I need to moderate my diet for that period. A pot of test strips lasts me some months. My original argument with my GP was that if he wanted me to control...

Many thanks for clarifying the situation,Veizy. You have no need to apologise. For the Forum moderators, may I say sorry that your posting of encouragement has been jumped upon by forum members. It is sad how quickly people rush to judgement and condemnation without knowing,or asking about, the...

Moving to the UK with Diabetes-1

Steady on folks. I really do not like the way this thread is going. Remember that we are the famed caring lot. If someone who has diabetes has managed to get 100 testing strips because of their particular medical circumstances, we should say well done and now let us redouble our efforts to...
