How Freestyle Libre 2+ measured against an actual A1c result.

My Freestyle Libre 2 plus has for some time estimated that my A1c was 37mmol/mol, based on 90 day glucose data from the sensor. My actual result from a blood test just taken was 43mmol/mol. I would say the Libre fairly consistently underestimates my blood glucose by perhaps 20%. I tend to forget...

    Good news Bad news.

TOFI is thin on the outside, fat on the inside. If I lose weight, my arms and legs become stick-like, but my visceral fat resists leaving. You could have knocked me over when I was diagnosed with T2D, except my mother had it. Thank you for well wishes.

    Good news Bad news.

After a year of low carb eating - not no carb, and not dieting - I'm a TOFI, and despite far too many lapses, my HbA1c has come down to 43, after a shocking 88 a year ago. (I was clueless for years  .) My previous result was 49 in July, and I thought that was amazing. The bad news is...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Good morning. .8 on Libre, after a very rocky month. ☺

Anyone on low carb struggling with not getting enough fibre?

Are you on a flozin? I got very constipated when I was, but it corrected itself when I was taken off.

Libre 2 plus failed me twice in a row while on holiday.

Thanks for your comments. I suspect I've hit a duff batch of sensors. And yes my readings have gone haywire.

Libre 2 plus failed me twice in a row while on holiday.

The first sensor just died before its time, after long periods stuck in "scan sensor" mode. I never had two on at the same time, so that's not it. I'm wearing the 2nd one now. To start with, it was stuck on "scan sensor" mode for 2 days. Now it's working, but with frequent long interuptions...

Libre 2 plus failed me twice in a row while on holiday.

So, I'm abroad, about to eat out, when my CGM fails. Luckily I brought a spare. But straight away this one has gone weird, wouldn't activate for hours, then stuck in a whirling "scan sensor" mode. I can read it, but nothing more, and the graphic has become very wobbly, so may have no relation...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday for supper, I had a pizza, with Mission Carb Balance wrap as a base and a thin layer of spicy tomato sauce, sliced olives, Gruyere cheese (ran out of mozzarella), and oregano, baked at high temperature a few minutes until the cheese was melted and bubbly. Delicious .

    I found low-ish carb wraps in Sainsbury's !!

So far, Mission Carb Balance wraps have been a huge success. I had an egg mayo, avocado and tomato wrap for breakfast one day. My glucose went up by 2 mmol/L, which it often does when I have NO carbs at breakfast. Next day, I had a mozzarella, chili pesto and salad wrap for a late lunch. My...

Disappointed with attitude at hospital appointment

Don't let the cardiologist get you down. My nephrologist at hospital was pleased as punch that my HbA1c was down to 49. Keep up the good work!

    Help

Re your CGM screenshots, I'm no expert, but I learned from an incident in which 3 successive newly attached Libre sensors read LO and 111 suggested I go to A&E, because I didn't have a glucometer to cross-check. My sensors were likely faulty (only time), but I have had readings just below range...

    I found low-ish carb wraps in Sainsbury's !!

:( I was elated for half a day. I now need a reset, as I've been subtracting the fibre for net carbs from other purchases, including Robert Andrew sourdough bread. Still wish Supermarkets would have a low carb section. Even the smaller branches have a "Free From" section, for gluten free products.

    I found low-ish carb wraps in Sainsbury's !!

Perhaps this is nothing new to some of you, but I haven't seen diabetes-friendly bakery items in supermarkets and the one bread I tried from Holland and Barrett I found unpalatable. But today I saw Mission Carb Balance wraps in Sainsbury's. I haven't tried them yet, but they get good reviews and...

Spikes during 2 hours post meal

Thank you for your post. I wish I'd spotted it earlier. I needed the encouragement. I've been backsliding over the past couple of weeks or so, and just now binged on a whole 130 gm packet of Kettle crisps. Just overwhelmed by the recent complications from diabetes, despite working so hard over...

Spikes during 2 hours post meal

I get a rise, even after a low carb meal, from protein I'm guessing. On paper, I'm doing okay. Over the past year, my A1c has come down from 88 to 49, though maybe a tad higher next time. But that disguises increasing and inconsistent intolerances, with prolonged 3-5 mmol/l rises, although...

    Dislike all food now

I can eat one toasted potato waffle with a meal or a small serving of baby new potatoes without my BG going up unduly. But some carbs, rice for example, are a no-no. I haven't tried jacket or mashed potato, which I do miss. Still, I don't have to give up potato altogether.
