    Just had results back hbA1c

Amazing stuff, @WackyJacky64 ! Congratulations to you! What would you say is the secret to your success - the one thing you think has kept you on the path to such dramatically improved results?

    Meters

Sometimes I just repeat the test. And then, if I still am not happy, I'll reach for the Areo (whose test strips are FAR too expensive for me to self-fund, so it's used only as an arbiter) to decide, particularly when on meter is telling me something brilliant and the other is saying something...

    Meter Conversion

Here you go: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/what-is-hba1c.html But do bear in mind that, in a way, you're comparing apples to oranges in comparing your BG meter readings with your HbA1c. Your meter will tell you what is happening in your blood right now, and (aside from the meters' variance of +/-...

    Meters

I find exactly the same between my TEE2 and CodeFree - there's always around a 1% difference between them. Control Solution Tests invariably return the TEE2 being bang in the middle of its optimal range, while the CodeFree is always right on the upper limit. They're only accurate to +/- 15%...

    Nerve pain/Circulatory issues

If possible, keep a journal of when you feel your tingling and other symptoms and what you'd been doing beforehand, eg, walking, lying down etc... After a week or so, take it to an appointment with your GP. Your DN shouldn't have shrugged your concerns off like that, but isn't trained in the...

    Kidney problems in children

I know it's difficult when you're nursing a child and waiting for answers, but please don't google what this could be. I did and I decided not to share the results with you because the doctors are not acting as if this is urgent. When you have more answers, please come back with an update and...

    Blood glucose level readings

Hey there, @KKnapp and welcome to the forum! Don't forget, also, that your BG meter can have some bonkers readings from time to time - there's a variance of +/- 15% which means your readings are mostly there for guidance. Don't focus on the specifics too much - use them to track trends over...

    Kidney problems in children

After rereading your post, here there are reasons not to panic and think something awful is about to happen (though, of course none of this is brilliant news) 1. Letters and phone calls aren't how urgent problems are dealt with. 2. Next week (not this week, today, right now) is also not an...

    Kidney problems in children

I have no experience of this and no knowledge to offer you, but I wanted to send you love - one parent to another - and let you know that I (and hundreds of others on these boards) will be keeping you, your son and your family in our thoughts. Someone will be along shortly, I'm sure, to offer...

    Bad day

@Oldvatr is just trying to explain away that polka-dot suit he wears because he thinks it looks "natty".

    Yay, it's working!

Woop woop, congratulations! That's a big deal - enjoy it! Sock x

Oh those are spectacular! I must buy some so that I can leave a review!

    Liver?

Here's the thing (which I'll type now as it's clearly not an emergency so I'm not worried about freaking you out into a panic anymore). You have T1 diabetes, which means you're at an increased risk of a number of brilliant and fun things. And, generally, we diabetics - whether T1 or T2 - need...

    Bad day

There's a lot of anti-sock sentiment in this thread. I protest! And I thank covknit for finding another article of clothing - which I didn't stupidly choose to name myself after - to blame for unpredictable laundry outcomes. ;) (Hope your day has improved, @carty - I shall post an offensively...

Diagnosed with Type 1 AND NOW ALSO Coeliac Disease!

Since the SEND reforms (Children and Families Act etc), efforts have been made to align service cut-off ages between different statutory services, partly to streamline referrals, locality teams and info-sharing "across the boundaries" (primarily local authority to NHS and back again) but also to...

Unable to log in on PC

In and fixed - look, no "Sent from my stupid phone" message! (Tips for anyone else: you have to clear ALL your chrome cached date - across all your devices - and your entire browsing history. Which is a pain, but I'm bookmark obsessive. It will also log you out of any other websites you use, so...

Win 7 home ed here. Not much time to try today - new floors and first box run to new house. Then... sleeeeeeeep. Will try a full reboot, Chrome update, the whole shebang before I bother you later, but thanks x Sent from my SM-G930F using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

Diagnosed with Type 1 AND NOW ALSO Coeliac Disease!

Apparently you can make some pretty decent gf bread in a bread machine, which also allows you to add all sorts of interesting stuff. Since my T2 diagnosis I've had to stop stealing my friend's black olive, garlic and sun dried tomato bread... the only carb I miss now! Sent from my SM-G930F...

    Liver?

Get a sample to a GP if its like that later. You dont wanna mess with potential bladder / kidney infection. Drink lots of water and call 111 if you develop a fever, confusion or pain. Sent from my SM-G930F using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

Heya. Was browsing earlier when I was suddenly logged out and have not since been able to log back in. No such problems on mobile, happily. Am using Chrome. Have rebooted, cleared cache and cookies, each log in attempt doesnt result in an error message, just a reload of the forum front page...
