thanks all, I've no problem reducing the number of strips or moving to cheaper ones. I just need assurance that the GP won't prescribe the Libre then remove it, leaving me in a worse position. Without the Libre I need to test at least 10 times a day on average.
A few weeks ago I asked my GP about putting the Libre on prescription. GP knew nothing about it. On the back of another normal A1c, had a voicemail where the GP wants to speak to me about this after looking into it apparently. I rang to make a telephone appointment and the receptionist mentioned...
I eat low carb for year and a half now. It took some time to work out basal rate (I'm on MDI) and carb ratios, I also bolus for protein (liver dump in morning is usually an issue). I have to bolus for protein. Maybe as you're starting out your rates need a tweak. My basal dose has lowered due to...
hi, Boots (initially told me it would be £35 per sensor which I thought was too good to be true. Couple of days later, they corrected this and told me it was £67, which is with the VAT knocked off.
Hi @badmedisin and @CarbsRok
just picked up this thread, hope you're both well.
I was diagnosed with RRMS in July this year, not on meds but not sure if I will just yet. Not sure about my neuro TBH. Also diagnosed with Brown Sequard syndrome as well which the neuro wrote to my GP about. As I've...
Flew from Manchester to Amsterdam this week. Manchester no problems with the libre which I was wearing, which didn't even flag up on the scanner. Amsterdam Schipol scanner flagged up the libre. The lady I spoke to hadn't seen one when I explained what it was for. Only question she asked was if...
should be OK when in use (and therefore not in the fridge) insulin vials can be used up to 28 days. temperature affects insulin, believe it needs be kept under 30c. also may be worth checking the expiry date on the box?
Hi, agree with the issue if eating late with carbs and the fat slowing rise until about 4 hours after. I can maintain good control with a bolus before but will need to bolus after too. On tresiba now and this works better for me than lantus
I have this issue as I low carb too. When I eat meals with small carbs (bit of cauli or bran crackers so no more than 15g carbs), protein and high fat (cheese/fatty meat like lamb) I split bolus before and then another 4 hours after the meal as my BG will start to increase. I also found that...
