    Missing in Action

I'm right here and doing reasonably well, considering the time of year. Life seems to be getting in the way of posting a lot on the forums, but I'm reading a lot of what's going on here!

How Freestyle Libre 2+ measured against an actual A1c result.

Both set on 90 days. The lower estimation on the LibreLink app seems to correlate with my Libre readings, which are always 1 to 2 mmol/l lower than a fingerprick. So I have no idea how LibreView arrives at a higher number, which is much closer to my real hba1c but doesn't add up with Libre...

How Freestyle Libre 2+ measured against an actual A1c result.

Always 8 mmol/mol below my measured hba1c for over 8 years. Oddly, the LibreView website is closer in their estimation, based on the same data.

“Rapid-acting” insulin taking hours to work…

Hi @jackwagon2112 , welcome to the forum. What insulins are you on?

    Hour Early

The whole goal about using a basal and bolus is to have your basal covr your insulin need outside of foods, and have the bolus deal with any foods you eat, no matter what time you eat it. So you did exactly the right thing, bolused before eating and not at a specific time.

    Low carb program

I do not have any experience with the low carb program, but I do eat low carb mostly, and I have lost weight without additional exercise. This thread may be useful for starters to see if cutting carbs may be the thing for you...

    excercise thread

If you're usually running for exercise, the video doesn't really look like a workout in comparison. And those exercises require you to use your feet, like @Pipp said. Do you have a bicycle? No pressure on the cut on your heel and similar to running in type of exercise. Coud be outdoors on a...

    Rapid timing

What is the reason your DN thinks you're prebolusing too early? Do you go low after eating before rising again? I usually need a bit longer than you do, but this is highly individual. Do you use a CGM?

    Tresiba

Do you use a continuous glucose meter? How do those spikes relate to meals, activity, sleep? What insulins do you use? Assuming you have a pretty standard sleeping and eating pattern, at least the late afternoon high is when you're awake, so maybe start working on that one. What foods do you...

Anyone on low carb struggling with not getting enough fibre?

If you're eating lots of veg, are you sure you're not getting enough fibre for whatever is the issue?

    Swings and Roundabouts

@Outlier , how about keep taking the flozins and adding some carbs? Use your meter to see if it raises your bg. I have a non diabetic relative on a flozin for his heart, it's a common medication for that, and with your history I wouldn't stop it before talking to a professional. Why don't you...

    Hypo awareness?

It's very, very unusual for people to suddenly pass out from low BG without feeling like absolute rubbish before, alerting them that something is wrong. This is usually reserved for those who experience low BG all the time so their body gets used to it, and on top of that it's often paired with...

noticed a cut on my foot

You are having a doctor treating your infection. Did you tell them about your worries and ask if you have reason to worry? You have only been diagnosed for a short time, amputations from diabetes complications do not usually happen until after many years of high blood glucose. What are your...

    Reactions of others

I think you meant to use the word 'teacher', and I fully agree with your message. In my swimming class I took the time to explain to my teachers, they were interested but not at all alarmed or worried.

    Reactions of others

Can you talk to them to ask why they're scared? In a conversation you might be able to explain how diabetes works for you and how it may affect your dance class so they'll have more understanding. It would also be a good moment to let them know how their remarks made you feel. Keep dancing and...

    Diabetic neuropathy

I second the special pillows for the sitting sores, my dad needed it when he was ill and spent most of the day in bed or chair. If I remember correctly, he also had his professional carers apply a healing cream and a numbing cream to keep him more comfortable.
