Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

Now in my CMT, definitely going to try! Thank you! I'll see if I can find it tomorrow, almost time for bed here.

Blood reading go high after exercise !

We can't give dosing advice on the forum, that's between you and your diabetes nurse/doctor. I take it you're on two types of insulin, basal and bolus (a long acting you take once a day, and a short acting taken before meals and for corrections), is this correct? How do you decide on your doses...

Not particularly, never have. And I have a completely unfunded aversion to sweeteners so I don't even have them in the house. :hilarious: I have some good cheeses in my fridge on the bridge though, the perfect dessert in my book. :hungry:

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

I've never in my life eaten two hot meals a day, except when sailing with Germans who often have a soup at lunch, weather permitting. Your eggs sound perfect for days where I failed to batch cook before working days! My schedule is very forgiving in case of lack of planning: one week I work on...

Same onion soup with lots of grated cheese as yesterday, only a different background because I ate at work. And when I came home after a long day there was a wonderful surprise waiting for me in front of my house! Yesterday a neighbour down the road sent a whatsapp message to all neighbours...

Perfect. If he thinks this is as funny as I think it is I'll take him on a second date! I'll try to find one. :angelic: No-one (except maybe only having my phone to access the forum at work, I hate typing on my phone), and as far as I remember we haven't talked diabetes in a long time, both on...

I'm with @Zhnyaka on this one, are you teasing us by telling about a yummy low carb garlic and cheese flatbread but not telling us your secret recipe? :hilarious:

I'll have a good look on their website, thanks for the reminder! I've never felt the need so far but this sounds very useful. :)

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

Lentils taste good, but I prefer lower carb veggies for my meals, especially when at work and wanting to avoid dosing mistakes (possibly leading to hypos) at all cost. I make several very tasty stews without carby stuff like lentils, and they're easily microwavable. Which is why I'm searching...

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

At home I often use my microwave to reheat the bulk of my meal (veggies) but use the oven or frying pan for meats/eggs to be freshly cooked every day, I have very little experience with reheating proteins in a microwave, except if they are in soups and stews. I'm perfectly fine eating the same...

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

Sounds very good, will try this when I have time! Oh, moussaka, I think that will be next week's meal! I just leave the potatoes out and I can deal with a little flour in the sauce, haven't hd that in years! Ohoho, things to try, thank you!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I cooked a pot of onion soup, enough for 3 days. So I'll have the same tomorrow and the day after at work, it's easily reheated in the microwave on my bridge. :) My onion soup comes with lots of grated cheese. :hungry: I'm also looking for meals I can take with me to work, but that would be...

No problem, there's no-one but me on the bridge! I can prepare those at home, but microwaving to reheat doesn't really improve the texture as far as I know so it would have to be eaten cold. I love those with tuna added, very good to eat both hot and cold! But not reheated in a microwave...

Oh, I love that! But I expect it won't work with our eggs. The turkey eggs will be too large, the chicken eggs too small, and the duck eggs to oddly shaped for that gadget. The Margriet link looks very useful though!

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

Cold proteins would work as well, but I do like a warm meal once a day. My issue lies in the proteins, all good and well to reheat a stew, soup, or something tomato and minced meat based (think bolognese) in the microwave, but anything like pork belly strips, crunchy fried bacon, pan fried fish...

Microwavable meals to bring to work, give me all your ideas!

I have a new job as a 'brugwachter' (Dutch for the person opening a bridge when ships want to pass). :joyful: Long days, 9 am to 4 pm, two hours break and then another one or two hours until 7 or 8 pm. It makes sense to eat on the job, there's little evening left after coming home and I want...

    Diagnosis Limbo

LADA is T1, so if you're LADA your notes should say type 1. In adults it often takes longer for the autoimmune reaction to kill off enough insulin producing cells to cause absolute insulin dependency than in children, but the end result is the same.

Call me The Hamster (Treadmill question)

Thankfully we have the PM function. ;) I'm afraid using Russian or Dutch won't work, our mods have access to google translate as well and besides, we don't want to give them extra work.
