    Newly diagnosed

All carbs turn to glucose in the body. Many of us choose to skip the potatoes and simply have more of the meats and veggies. Or you could have a smaller portion of the potatoes. The problem with many websites and even doctors is that they follow their own beliefs as to what is healthy. A...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I wasn't sure what a steamer was, and a google search wasn't very helpful either, but I think I don't have one of any type! :hilarious: Sounds very good, easy too! If I feel a bit better tomorrow but still crave bland foods, this is what I'll try. :) What would you have with it by way of...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I might even need to buy more lemon and ginger if I'm going to try all your ideas, @Annb , thank you for your practical approach! Your list also made me hungry, so maybe I'm over the worst by now. Or maybe it's only a temporary result of having a go at a very loose interpretation of a 'whisky...

Freestyle Libre [emoji638] Plus and swimming

Losing a sensor or it malfunctioning late in its life is actually beneficial, if annoying when it happens (usually at a very inconvenient moment). Abbott replaces failed/lost sensors if you call/mail them, so a failed sensor on day 13 means one missed day on that sensor, but get 13 days worth...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

My apologies for being MIA on this thread for the umpteenth time, I keep thinking to post and then I don't get around to do so. And once again, it's with a practical question, but I'll start with the food eaten today. I've been under the weather since monday (nasty cold) and haven't really felt...

Freestyle Libre [emoji638] Plus and swimming

I swim almost daily. My preferred patch is Hypafix Transparent, which comes on a roll of 10m x 10 cm. I cut the corners rounded and cut a piece of tissue (well, TP, I don't own tissues) the size of the sensor so the film doesn't stick to the sensor in case I need to replace it before the two...

    Flu and BG

    Yes, very common.

    NovoRapid takes ages...

Shows how different we all are! I've used both Lyumjev and Fiasp (they work pretty much the same for me but I like Fiasp better because it doesn't sting and it fits my refillable pens with a memory for last dose), currently on Fiasp. And I still need to pre-bolus by 30-60 minutes for low carb...

I seem to remember that @EllieM shared that article, can't find it myself at he moment.

    Libre 2 plus

Not doubting you, but can you add a link to this information? Libre uses bluetooth, just like many other devices (for listening to music or hands free phonecalls while driving). It may be that Abbott simply put this on their website as a blanket protection against lawsuits, without there being...

    Freestyle Libre 1 sensors

I've been using Libre for over 8 years, starting with the Libre 1. It could be activated with the phone in 2017. The only thing is that if you start it with the phone, you can't use the reader as well, but if you start it with the reader you can use your phone too. Your chat gpt results show...

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

You're on a diabetes forum here. I like to go on holiday as well, but do you have any questions about diabetes?

Can you please tell us some more about yourself?

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

What would you like to learn about diabetes? Apparently your medication works very well.

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

I have lots of favourite foods. But I also have diabetes, which means I don't process sugar and carbs very well. So I would never eat sweets just because I like them, they make my blood glucose go up way too high!

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

I'm completely puzzled. I'm assuming love hearts are a type of candy? Earlier tonight you mentioned eating a Mars bar. Both are very high sugar/carb. You've joined because you want to learn more about diabetes, and you've had T2 for almost 20 years. What would you like to learn about diabetes...

Weird feeling later in the day

Would you like to check your BG to get a handle on how different foods affect your numbers? If you are interested in going that route, it could give you a lot more tools to deal with your diabetes, and it could answer your question on if your current symptoms may be related to your levels. Many...

Weird feeling later in the day

A bit more information could be useful. Do you feel this could be related to your diabetes? How long has this been going on? A couple of weeks ago you posted about your doctor wanting to stop you mounjaro, did you stop it? Are you testing your blood glucose at home when you're having symptoms...

    Insulin/Fridge

Agree. I get pens with a use by date over a year away. A pharmacist storing unrefrigerated would change that use by date to only a month away. I get my insulin delivered 4 times a year, so unrefrigerated storage could have serious consequenses.
