    DKA - Type 2

Anything that reduces BG can make hypos more likely if someone is taking a drug thst increases inslin levels.

    DKA - Type 2

A BG meter is not standard for people on daplaglaflozin (a SGLT-2i) as on it own or combined with Metformin it does not create a risk of hypos.

    DKA - Type 2

Very unlikely to be DKA as they need inslin to control and if not controlled you will be in ICU. I am not convinced that the GP you spoke to on the phone for the emergency appointment know enough to be trusted. I think you need to speak to your consultant. There is some information missing...

The Doctor Phoned This Morning To Tell Me

Then may be due to having too little normal salt, as the kidneys loses potassium when sodium is low. Hence consider increasing normal salt and using some "low salt" as "low salt" contains potassium.

Are we reurning to 'normal' too quickly.

Yes, if it effects understanding transmission risk. Eg are the children 15 year old or 6 year old.

What age children have got infected? What race are they?

Keeping the pubs closed in a city may be enough to make many people believe it is not safe to spend time with their friends/relatives inside.

Are we reurning to 'normal' too quickly.

It seems that in Leicester pubs/bars/churches/etc will remain closed for a few weeks longer then the rest of England. I am also expecting some large food protection factories with many cases to be closed for 14 days with all staff required to ioslate.

    Nurses querying type 1

There is nothing that the biology that stops someone with type2 developing type1, however clearly once all the beta cells have been kill by the autoimmune process it is no longer type2.

    Nurses querying type 1

It's possible to have both type1 and type2. It may be the inslin requirements are closer to what the nurce expect from someone with type2. The details of the emergency admission makes me think type1, but all these symptoms are possible (but uncommon in combination) with type2. The question...

I feel like crying .... with frustration!!!

Time to find a new GP, as you need a GP you can respect. Maybe one of the other GPs is the same practice is better, otherwise I think you need a new GP practice.

The predicted Hba1c is assuming your BG profile going back 13 weeks is the same as the part of the profile the Libra software knows about.

The risk of the plumber being infected is now likely to be under 1 in 400, the risk of transmission is very low unless you are within 2m of someone for more then 10 minutes. Opening windows before her/she arrives would be wise, other then that, just keep out of the way.

Are we reurning to 'normal' too quickly.

For some reason ICU consultants and anaesthetics have had some of the lowest infection rates of NHS staff.
  15. R

Are we reurning to 'normal' too quickly.

The R value tells you nothing about personal risk, as it tells you nothing about how many people are infected. All R tells us is how the number of infected people are changing. With a low level of infections, it is not possible to calculate meaningful R, as discovery a new cluster increased...

Are we reurning to 'normal' too quickly.

I am fearfull about indoor pubs etc opening and people spending time with friends/families inside, along with office workers stopping working from home resulting in increased transmission. None of the rules that have been relexed so far concerns me. I see the risk of a 2nd wave in about...

    Freestyle libre a1c

For safety, systems like the Libre will tend to report a little low when BG is low and a high high when BG is high. Missing a hypo will cost them a lot more in USA legal charges then saying someone with prediabetes has normal BG.

Consider how many London bus drivers there are, how old many of them are, and what their BMI is, along with being a bus driver increasing the risk of someone having DM2. Also consider how much the infection risk has now reduced, the risk of someone comming into contact with an infected person...

Copy of letter sent out to NHS GPs re Shielding (03/04/20)

As soon as one order is delivered setup the next order with enough items (that you always need) to keep the delivery slot. Then the order can be edited the day before delivery to add any additional items.

It can't work, as the people who most need protecting have carestaff and it is impossible to stop the carestaff socialising if the rest of the population are allowed to do so.
