metformin, diarrhea , low carb diet

Don't know how low carb you are but, if you can take the carbs, an apple or two fixes the problem. - I was having huge problems daily until I indulged my apple craving. Problem gone. There's some sort of enzyme in apple, - or so I'm told(?) I also avoid gluten, no matter what it's carb count...

    This Morning Doctor on diabetes

Scary isn't it? Seriously, check out the "Sugar, the bitter truth " thread of a few days ago. It's a link to a lecture given at an American university. It's long but very enlightening. I've seen a few indications coming particularly from the States that doctors and researchers are starting to...

    Apples

Been looking longingly at this thread since it posted. I can't do crumble as I can't eat gluten, but I can get away with one or two apples a day, providing I keep the rest of my carbs to nonexistent. It's just occurred to me to get hold of some of this thing beginning with X and try to put...

    This Morning Doctor on diabetes

It's so depressing to see this sort of attitude broadcast yet again by the media. Even if it wasn't just basically wrong, it would still be cruel and unhelpful. I doubt anything will be done about his comments. - And even if he was to apologize, it's too late. The comments are out there and...

    Why Oh Why

Can't say I've ever seen a dog warden. We had a pair of Rotties years ago. They were the softest, daftest, most affectionate dogs you could come across. Daisy used to hurtle towards total strangers who visited my Dads yard, flip onto her back mid air and skid to a halt with her paws in the air...

Sugar - The Bitter Truth Video

Ok, now that I'm not asleep on my feet. - really interesting lecture. It ties in with stuff I've seen/read from other doctors and researchers who are looking at wider metabolic issues. I certainly will be checking everything I eat for fructose and high fructose corn syrup and avoiding it like...

    Why Oh Why

Strange isn't it? My dog either used to cross his legs and wait til he got home to "decorate" the garden, or wiggle his bum so far into a hedge that I couldn't even see what he'd done, let alone pick it up. I always made sure to carry poop bags though, just incase. Sent from the Diabetes...
