What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.6 at 7.25 am. Bedtime reading was 4.7 at 10.40 pm. No particular plans today. Got somebody coming to collect an old cooker this afternoon (and no, that's not a euphamism) and got the first of the rugby league playoff semi-finals on TV tonight, but otherwise the day is mine to do with as I...

Type 2 Sleeping (how Many Hours Did You Sleep Last Night?)

About seven hours, but with a pee break about 1 am. Mental note to self that best couple of night's sleep recently have coincided with lowish BG levels the next morning.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 at 7.10 am. Bedtime reding was 5.1 at 10.50 pm. Best night's sleep I've had in a while and finally beginning to realise that's there's a correlation between low BGs and a good night's kip! Have a good day everybody.

    Trying to turn things around

Thanks. Not had it so bad when compared to others. Try to stay positive but difficult sometimes - either use distraction techniques or go into the cave, think things through and come out fighting!

    Trying to turn things around

Thanks Vicky. Fingers crossed your scales are on the high side and you get the go ahead for the op. Sounds like your're making good progress as well - keep going!

    Trying to turn things around

The rollercoaster ride continues! Wound from op still not fully healed and might be tracking to the sinus again, but now down to seeing the practice nurses every other day for dressing changes rather than every day. Back to see the consultant early November so not too long to wait. Morning...

7.7 at 7.10 am. Bedtime reading was 6.3 at 11 pm. Slightly frustrating after yesterday's 5.4.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.7 at 7.10 am. Bedtime reading was 6.3 at 11 pm. Frustrating after a 5.4 yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous morning here - blue sky, trees at their autumn best and a bit sharp - just the way I like it. Had a medical appointment at 9 am and walked there and back so that's four miles done already...

Bags for all your stuff ?

I have a 'tardis' bag (bigger on the inside than it is on the outside) - its one that unzips and opens out and you can hang it on the bak of a door (I have a colostomy as well so it also carries the things I need for that in case of an 'incident').

Type 2 Can sugars rise without food or drink

OK - liver dumps (also known as "dawn phenomenon") occur when your liver releases sugar into your blood strem - usually happens while you're asleep and is part of your body preparing for the day ahead. Can result in high morning readings either on waking or sometimes later in the morning. There...

Type 2 Can sugars rise without food or drink

All sorts of things can affect your levels - illness, activity, stress, and then there's liver dumps.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.4 at 7.10 am. Bedtime reading was 5.2 at 11.15 pm. Finally back in the 5s after what's been a frustrating few days with morning readings. Had a fast day yesterday and walked about eight miles. Probably do the same again today, though maybe not as much walking - Australian Rugby League Grand...
