    Type 1s: Advice wanted!

Ah cool thanks, must admit I can never get my levels stable for long enough to try bolusing between meals (apart from corrections!) nuts and cheese etc I might be able to get away with though :)

    Sudden drop in basal requirements

I seem to be needing less at the moment too. Going to do my first drop tonight (should have done it sooner really) I always have a run of low readings before I come down with something. Also I think it's supposed to take 3 days for new doses to take effect so watch out for that creeping up on...

    Type 1s: Acceptable spike

That link looks really interesting, I definitely recognise that drop then spike graph! what would you do though if you were on target / slightly low in the run up to the meal? Less insulin in the run up to the meal? For example if you're 4 or 5 1 hour before a meal you (well i) wouldn't want to...

    Carb Counting - scales?

Sorry I probably wasn't being clear. while you're spot on I was referring to the info that is displayed before you actually go into a oage (the info from Google itself as shown in the attached). This seems to be USA information even if you search from Google.co.uk which has tripped me up a few...

    Carb Counting - scales?

I think I'm right in saying this (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm not!) but if you Google carbs for something you get the American version which lumps fibre into the carbs (that is if you go with the info shown on the search results page)... For example I googled carbs in an orange and...

    Type 1s: Bernstein for T1

Definitely agree with this, my Nan is also type 1 and refuses to go to bed below 10 (else shell have some grapes) and she's just passed her 88th birthday!

    Type 1s: Bernstein for T1

Personally speaking I can't run that low and not feel terrible. I try and keep my levels at as close to 7 as I can and always in single figures. I think I'd be eating nothing but lettuce (if that) to get close to much better!

So Close And Yet So Far!

Yes my good day didn't quite pan out either! The low (3.8 blood check) must have been aiss timed dose not tooucj insulin so the 2 glucose tablets didn't have quite the desired effect!

Why Is My Blood Sugar Rising In The Afternoon/evening For No Obvious Reason

I've found that if I rise even 4 hours after eating it means I'm not having enough insulin with the food, have you tried upping your lunchtime insulin slightly? Might be worth trying the basal test first, and don't up it too much else you might end up hypo...

Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

4.7 at about half 9, decided to try and be clever and had one round of toast (11g carbs) and 1 unit so slightly under injecting for it. 3.9 before bed so 3 glucose (expecting the toast to go in later and be higj but not wanting to risk it) - went to sleep 2.8 this morning, metal note. Don't...
