    Hunch about Chinese...

Yeah I don't indulge very often but my other half and I fancied a Chinese and I thought why not! I normally try and have food that's likely to throw me for a loop at so I have a bit of time to recover things! [emoji2] Sent from my GT-I9195 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

    Hunch about Chinese...

This is just a guess but I think one of the Chinese restaurants at the Trafford Centre put quite a lot of sugar in their sauces... [emoji15] Sent from my GT-I9195 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

    Type 1: Worst hypo ever!

My worst one was at uni, woke up and for half an hour I was convinced that my dorm room was the entire world and that was all there was, quite funny looking back on it but not nice at the time! Also recorded my lowest reading at uni, 1.5, think I ate my entire fridge that time! Sent from my...

    Red lumps and bumps, help!

Is it just after either your levemir or novorapid or both? I used to get these after levemir injections, I had it as soon as I switched from lantus though...

    Accu-Check??

Hi TeamBeal, Probably not what you want to hear but there is no meter that will tell you exactly what the glucose reading is and be spot on accurate, there are so many factors that affect it you could take 2 tests from the same finger on the same meter and get two different readings.. All...

    Unusual Request

I was asked to sell my syringes once at school ( the old orange topped ones). Never been asked about insulin though..Luckily had the sense even back then to say no, pretty good idea where they would have been headed!

    Half units

I've got a half unit pen, asked our doctors for one and they said they didn't know of any such thing but would refer me to a consultant, went to the hospital appointment and they sorted me out. So a bit of a faff for me but worth it in the end!

How do you compare to average BS levels

I wonder how those figures compare to things like alcohol consumption / weight / any other health indicator you can think of, might not necessarily be a diabetic specific thing.....

    Question about hypos

One other thing that a dsn told me affects it is whether the liver is "busy" when you need it to come to the rescue. For example if you've had a lot to drink and your liver is cleaning that up it might not dump glucose. That's especially a problems as alcohol can push your sugars down. As...

Who has authority to inject other than ourselves?

Here you go this is what I meant, they're called injection ports: https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=injection%20port Look into it first though, I have never used one (and don't know anyone else that has either) so they might be rubbish...

Who has authority to inject other than ourselves?

Sounds more like company policy than anything, would have been interesting if it was a glucagon injection though, would they have been in such a fuss then!? Couple of things about the injections though. A while back someone posted on here about a device that you put on your skin and then...

An example of the body's reaction to a hypo...

I would imagine the body, not knowing it's diabetic, is thinking something along the lines of "blimey, I must be being chased by a lot of sabre tooth tigers for my glucose levels to drop that low, better sort that out pronto..."

New Mum: Fed up with being in the 2s :(

I had a similar thing during the first 2 weeks after Jacob was born (paternity leave) I could basically get away with eating ANYTHING and not go high (had lots of lows though). It did tail off in the end but I did find that being up regularly in the night can make me hypo. I think it's because...
