A very interesting question about basal insulin (Lantus/Tresiba/Levemir).

I've had much flatter results on Tresbida than I ever got on Lantus (I tried Levemir but had a nasty local reaction to it). There are still things that throw you (illness, eating certain foods before bed etc...) but in general my results have been much better.

    Theme park & fun rides

The signs are probably there in case the rise gets stuck up there for an hour or so. Just make sure you've got something with you (like glucose tablets) and you should be fine [emoji3]

So what's causing this then (complete with Libre trace photos!)...?

So think I've found out what was causing it... @noblehead and @ carbsrok were right it was the fat. Only it wasn't the fat in my evening meals. I've been trying to put on weight so having snacks of nuts (specifically 5 Brazil nuts after tea) never thought about that as there's naff all carbs in...

So what's causing this then (complete with Libre trace photos!)...?

Wouldn't I want to test through the night as well though as I seem to keep rising from 11pm onwards? As per the first screenshot?

So what's causing this then (complete with Libre trace photos!)...?

Yeah I think I am going to have to do some basal testing, I was holding off as I didn't fancy going from lunch until the following morning without eating! Other problem is I have a really erratic activity level around that time as well so that might be hard to manage, be worth it though..... not...

So what's causing this then (complete with Libre trace photos!)...?

Yup agree with that (although they were oven baked ones). Doesn't really explain why I get it with microwaved potato, veg and a smallish piece of salmon though (earlier in the week)... Oh and this is why I don;t think my basal needs to go up any more, this is after last injecting at about half...

So what's causing this then (complete with Libre trace photos!)...?

Morning all, Just after everyone's opinion on what could be causing an odd level rise I've been experiencing for the last few days / week in the evenings and during the night (sorry it's a bit of a long post). I have tea at about 6 every night during the week (last night we had chips so I had...

    Coffee and Spikes

Yep I can get a fairly big spike from cofee (unfortunately) I don't think it's the milk as I don't get the same with tea (which I also have milk in). Might try black coffee at some point and see if that's any better! Matt

    Getting more and more confused....

Just on a side note, you don't need to wake up to scam with the line. If you plug it into your PC and then go into the software. Cluck on file and you can export the results (about 90 days I think). The sensor holds data for 8 hours so just scam the once if you happen to wake up (if you sleep...

Can now buy up to 6 Libre Sensors per time

I used 008000 - 2255 232 (with both leading 0's) it's the technical helpline but once they realise you're not calling about a faulty sensor they'll put you through. I agree that 6 is a bit excessive, wishful thinking on their part maybe!?

Can now buy up to 6 Libre Sensors per time

Hi All, Just ordered my next libre sensor by phone and the guy told me that we can now order up to 6 sensors per time. There's no price saving in the sensors themselves but you do only pay the one P&P. Thought I'd pass it on as I didn;t know and if I'd ordered ove rthe internet, like I...

    What to have before/after exercise

This is going to sound daft but I find the Ella's kitchen fruit sachets really good (yes baby food!) it's fruit but mashed up so it goes in quicker, might be something you could try right after exercising... Might not be something to the with you into the gym though..

    We all have bad days!

Hi all, just a fun (ish) topic to highlight that everyone has the odd bad control day no matter what they do. This was mine yesterday (still not really sure what causes it, although swapping my nasal pen and upping my basal dose by 1 seems to be bringing me down again! )

    Help! Recurring night hypo's

When did you drop your lantus dose? It can take up to 3 days for changes to properly take effect. You could also think about moving the lantus to the morning? You may still go low but it might be in the day and easier to deal with... As an aside I'm really glad I read through that before...

Not sure that meets the "Quick" part of the requirements! :) I Diabetes Connect (on Android), the free version is fine for me.

    Struggling with evening meal

Have you tried injecting in a different location? I seem to be really sensitive to insulin taken in my stomach (having a big drop after food and going high if I have a lower I:C ratio) in my leg it seems ok though, I've started splitting between the two sites to try and stop peaks and drops...

    What breakfast cereal spikes sugars

I've recently started to try this: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=276670077&gclid=CLWo66Oc5ckCFQQUwwodt-YD4A&gclsrc=aw.ds as a quicker to prepare alternative to scrambled egg on toast. The spike seems manageable so far...
