Unfortunately the medical profession is not clued up about reversing type 2 diabetes. They often give people metformin and let them get on with it with little extra help and then give stronger and stronger medication as things get worse, resulting in insulin. I found the following video useful...

    Introduction

Welcome to the forum. I found this video to be very useful in understanding which foods raise blood sugars and which don’t. If you start on a Low Carb High Fat - LCHF diet you should loose a lot of weight. I found it relatively easy to loose a lot of weight on this diet as well as...

Metformin and a random reddit post

High blood sugars cause the lenses in your eyes to swell. I had the same problem when I was diagnosed as diabetic with a HBA1C of 99. The solution is to reduce your high blood sugars. The best way to do this if you are type 2 diabetic is to change your diet to eat less carbs and more fat Instead.

    Benfotiamine (fat soluble vitamin B1)

Benfotiamine is a fat soluble form of vitamin B1. I watched an interesting video on the benefits of using benfotiamine for diabetics. It may also help lower A1C. Searching the forum here it looks like it is mostly used for neuropathy, but the video also mentions that it is beneficial to...

    Freestyle libre Sensors

I saw an interesting video on HBA1C today … This suggests the rate of production of new red blood cell reticulocytes impacts the average age of red blood cells in the body which skews the HBA1C if the red blood cells are living longer than average.

    Freestyle libre a1c

The estimated A1C is called the GMI. The GMI and time in range values from a CGM are perhaps more useful in managing diabetes than just the A1C numbers because it is the variability in glucose that causes the damage. I too have the Dexcom One+. This has only been available in the UK for a few...

    HbA1c 110

Hi Vivien My HBa1C was 99 when I was diagnosed. Like you I was put on metformin. I was given a blood glucose monitor by my diabetes nurse. I found that was very useful. Over time my morning glucose readings dropped from about 10 to 7. There are many glucose meters you can buy e.g...
