    Type 1.5 Lada

I also got LADA diagnosis a few months ago, initially just on Abasaglar and I found same as you, my levels OK in the mornings around 5, but rose sharply after food. Lost weight, which carried on but much more slowly. The next hba1c after abasaglar was 64 so I was put on novorapid as well. So I...

    What did I do wrong?

Tried that but I don't get an option to change anything if I click on diabetes type, nothing happens. Will log in on my laptop to do it!

    What did I do wrong?

Thank you! I am rediagnosed as LADA now but can't find out how to change my bio. Honestly sometimes I feel like I get in such a mess. I've only been diagnosed properly for a couple of months now on Abasaglar and Novorapid. I've been given a Libre which helps but dunno if it's normal or I just...

    What did I do wrong?

Wonder if anyone has any ideas what's gone wrong tonight? I've injected my novorapid 5 units , right amount of units for the carbs I've eaten but an hour after my food, my sugar is dropping. That's not happened to me before so I ate some chocolate, and still not going back up, so now chomping on...

    May have LADA

I found Gliclazide made a difference for 3 years, then it stopped working despite me eating lowish carb abs being slim (40-60g per day). Then the next 3.5 years having Glic doubled, doubled again, other meds added until I reached a tipping point in August last year, sugars above 20 all the time...

gliclazide hypo risks plus mysugr hba1c query

    Insulin and alcohol

Duck pate, small slice sourdough, pickled gooseberries and pickled rhubarb starter, trout, small amount of champ, kale. Then blackberry soufflé of which I only ate half. Dosed 5 units for that and the cocktail, but didn't go out of range at all, in fact I stayed in range all day until10.30 when...

    Insulin and alcohol

Hi all, wonder if anyone can help? I am.T1 (LADA) and on basal bolus. Yesterday was a kind of celebration day, out for posh lunch then had afternoon tea. I think I got the dosing right for lunch and tea as I didn't go out of range at all. Until 1o.30pm that night when I hadn't eaten since 6pm...

Are u supposed to be testing your bloods with type 2 controlled with tablets and diet?

I think Home Health are really good, I used the Code free then the Navii up until last year, my Navii meter stopped working so I just emailed them and they sent a replacement free of charge. Since having my diagnosis changed my GP insisted I use a meter on prescription for the DVLA log but now...

Some background retinopathy after 7 years

That's interesting I didn't realise it could disappear. I was also diagnosed in 2017 (T2) had 3 years of good control then 4 really bad years reaching a tipping point late summer last year. Now rediagnosed (T1 LADA) and on basal bolus and just praying that this years test (due April) won't show...

    Palpitations and high blood glucose.

I get this too, it doesn't last long, less than a minute and doesn't happen often but I get what feels like a huge adrenaline rush then it all calms down again. Not had it in a while but my sugars have been much better recently. It's such a strange feeling.

    Dreaming of Hypos!

Does anyone dream that they are having a hypo and actually be hypoing? Weird question I know, but last two nights I've dreamt I'm hypo, and in the mornings my sugars have been on the low side. I'm getting my Libre training on Friday so will be able to see for myself after that, but just wondered...

Has anyone sued for wrong diabetic diagnosis?

No and I was in the same boat. Diagnosed T2, responded well to meds for 3 years then stopped responding so now rediagnosed as T1 and on insulin. Many people with T1 LADA are diagnosed initially as T2, it's only when the honeymoon is over and you no longer respond to meds that you tend to be...

    Hba1c

That's brilliant! While I don't want to be all Debbie Downer, just enjoy it while it lasts! I'm also T1.5 or LADA and I had 3 fabulous years after diagnosis just on Gliclazide 40mg and Metformin before it all went wrong. I'm now on basal bolus insulin, my tablets have been taken away. I'm back...

Fantastic cheeses and where to find them

Yeah, our local farm shop has a little chiller room just for cheese. I love sliding the door open, sliding it shut behind me and being all on my own in a cheesy heaven. They do some really unusual ones there but the selection is always different and I've tried so many I can't remember their names!

Fantastic cheeses and where to find them

Ooooh I love cheese. I tend to buy mine from a local farm shop near me, but M&S sell Blacksticks Blue which is one of my favourite strong hard cheeses, as is Black Bomber which I buy from my butcher. Not a fan of mild cheeses at all.

    Weight loss on SGLT2 inhibitors

I've been taken off them now and just on insulin, but when I was on them I lost around 3kg over my 3 months of using them. Your weight loss sounds quite high, and I think with any unintentional weight loss you should probably have a chat to your GP?

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Mini success this week. As suggested I have added more cheese and nuts, cream in coffee and have gone from 47.1 kg to 47.3. Every little helps right?!
