    Update: cgm meeting

Mostly so I can see exactly how she reacts to foods but the alarm is a massive plus for night especially! A pump is something we don't want for her right now

Yes I want a cgm for her on its own

    Update: cgm meeting

So went for our appointment with the rep at the hospital, they fitted LO with a dexcom g4 on her bottom [emoji28] she didn't even flinch it seemed less traumatic than giving her insulin! They have no receivers and so we have to use an amimas vibe pump for the screen... I feel this is a tactic to...

Argh I'm an idiot, stacking advice

Yes I think I need to point this out to them, yes of course you can treat her with chocolate just let me see the packet so I can give her insulin for it ;)

While I agree she was also only diagnosed end of July so I'm fairly new to it all so I'm not comfortable going against advice :)

    BG stay high after corrections

I agree if they say go in then go, they will be able to bring you down in a more controlled manner :)

Risk of Type 1 Diabetes in children of T1?

I think t1 in the mum carries higher risk? Also I read risk was increased if diagnosed before 10 years old, the thing I read suggested a 1 in 17 chance in our situation (dad diagnosed at 10 months) and our first has t1. It wouldn't stop me having children or regretting them, it's not a death...

    BG stay high after corrections

That's good you've come down a fair bit now :phew: Yes I would eat something low carb skip rapid for now, 4hrs from your last dose of rapid it should be out of your system so reassess and possibly give another correction

I can't afford to not follow their advice and it go wrong. Her dad also agrees with them so I'm just doing as I'm told right now

    BG stay high after corrections

You have come down a bit then that's good, I'm unsure at what point it would be safe to give yourself another correction so hopefully someone else can advise on that

    BG stay high after corrections

Essential minerals in your body http://www.livestrong.com/article/518632-how-to-make-a-drink-with-electrolytes-without-sugar/ Basically salt and magnesium but they stop 'water overdose' If you don't come down in a few hours I'm afraid to say I'd be off to a & e for a saline drip

Get some electrolytes too if you're flushing that much If you were reading HI then I'd think 20 would be a fair drop, how much does one unit usually lower you?

I think rapid peaks at 90 minutes so hopefully by that point you'll see some improvement, remember to keep hydrated! Is your DSN not contactable today? I'd be wanting to call them ASAP as I imagine you're feeling pretty miserable

Afraid not, the team insists I feed her lots of carbs [emoji28]

    BG stay high after corrections

Good to see you back Since you're so high you may need more for a correction, the higher you are the more insulin resistant you are I believe. Do you have a DSN? I'd give them or whoever is in charge of your treatment a call for an appropriate course of action. Be careful of giving multiple...

Not from my MIL as my OH was diagnosed at 10 months however it could be another family member, she looked like she had chocolate on her dress... [emoji28] You live and learn, I should go with them next time but I just wanted a few hours to myself! It's hard when you've only 2 people willing to...

    Parents: Oh wow

I know MIL was just taking appropriate action it's just she didn't factor in how small LO is I think (my OH was diagnosed at 10 months and she knows the drill) I'm afraid I have to check her this often because she can go from 18 to 2 in half an hour, this is why the consultant applied for...
