I must admit that when i asked the question I had also been looking into the cost of test strips and didn't realise that lancets were so cheap compared to test strips.

Thanks for your reply. I am type 2 and not on medication So do I assume then that after a couple of hours i should aim to get back to roughly where I was before I ate? Might seem a silly question but needed to be asked.

Have been experimenting. I had a baguette with bacon in for lunch just to see what happened. I tested before, I was 6.4, 2 hours later 7.2. The only other thing I had was a glass of water. What does my result tell me? Trying to get to grips.

That's why I wondered if it would be possible for someone to manufacture some that were impregnated with something that would not affect the test . Was just a thought.

Are there any wipes available for cleaning the area of skin before a glucose test as it's not always possible to wash hands. I was thinking of something very small even about 3cm sq. If not might it be a good idea for a manufacturing company?

No. I was basically diagnose as diabetic wit two readings 7.1 and 7.7. Saw the nurse. Saw the nurse again about 4 weeks later, couldn't understans why as she really didn't tell me anything. Bought myself a monitor + test strips, learnt so much from this but would really like to know WHEN PEOPLE...

diagnosed Sept this year but only had two brief sessions with the nurse. My levels are in 7s and occasionally 8s. Can anyone please tell me when anyone is put on medication with diabetes. Sorry if this sounds asilly question just don't understand it all yet
