    Test in morning always high

I wash my hands with soap and test within 5 minutes of getting out of bed. Some members have their test kit by the bed and use a sanitizer then test so they test before even getting out of bed. Maybe an experiment you could do to see if you get a better result?

    Supplements

I started taking Berberine as I’d read this lowers BG levels. After 4 days I had the most awful midriff (stomach and liver area) pain. I didn’t acknowledge it was the berberine until I realised that was the only change I’d made. Within a day of stopping taking it the pain went away. So I have...

    Supplements

Me too plus a folate (B9) supplement as my blood tests keep showing I’m deficient. Don’t know if this has anything to do with being T2 and taking Metformin but I had all of the typical symptom, breathlessness and fatigue being the worst. After taking it for 4 days the symptoms went away.

    What’s your inspiration?

oh wow @aylalake that is a beautiful portrait by your grandson  My inspiration comes from other member's achievements and success stories. I’m afraid I’m like @Antje77 and my mood is often governed by my BG numbers and getting cross with myself if I eat something I should’t

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Well I don't understand this and it’s happened a few times before, maybe someone can explain? I got up had a wee, walked through to the kitchen, washed my hands and tested 6.0mmols at 7:20am. Bounced the ball a few times down the hall for the dogs to chase, let them in the garden, went to let...

@Trishhh you can self refer to Talking Therapies. You Start by filling in a questionnaire online and from those results it prompts them to respond. Prediabetes Carbohydrate levels of different foods.

I shop online at Sainsbury’s and always check the nutrition label for items in my basket if I’m unsure, which has the carbs listed. There are a few apps around, l use Carb Manager. I’ve also googled any food and it comes up with carbs per 100g, I can calculate from that whether that food needs...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.9 at 7:30. Still erratic sleep but I’ve started taking magnesium to see if that helps. It’s surely better for me than nytol! @Estragon I used to have to feed tinned fish balls to the families dog (by hand!) when I was an au pair in Sweden. Never had a fish ball since! :hungover: Have a fab...
