Is there such as thing as a consultant that deals with T2 diabetes

I found these nice guidelines. A couple of years out of date that do suggest empa as second line after Metformin. https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng28/resources/visual-summary-full-version-choosing-medicines-for-firstline-and-further-treatment-pdf-10956472093 I think both can be taken...

Is there such as thing as a consultant that deals with T2 diabetes

I think it is very rare for a type 2 to be referred to a consultant. Even when I was put on insulin I only saw the diabetic nurse at the hospital. Empaglifloxin is indeed being prescribed more these days, it is said to protect the kidneys. It works by encouraging your kidneys to remove the...

Yes, for this round of vaccines diabetes alone is not sufficient to meet the criteria.

    New iPhone 16e

Really sorry to hear you are having this issue on top of everything else you are dealing with right now. I don’t use the libre software for alarms on my iPhone as I have loaded third party software. I have however seen some posts on here with people having issues with iPhones running a version...

    Help

That’s a really interesting side effect from Mounjaro. I wonder whether in the future it might be used as a treatment for eating disorders. Just another thought. Is it the hospital nurse you are waiting to see? Could you try a complaint to PALs especially as your specialists have said you need...

    Help

@Rosie9876 just a reminder that @Buddug76 is an insulin user. @Buddug76 Looking at the graphs they would be ideal if just a little higher…lovely flattish lines! It does look as if the insulin just needs slight adjustment. When you do see the DN I’d be inclined to suggest you reduce the insulin...

    Help

It must be so frustrating to have to wait so long to see the diabetic nurse. I was referred to a hospital diabetic nurse and had to wait 4 months. Even that seemed like a lifetime. Only to be told they wouldn’t prescribe Mounjaro because I have background retinopathy and it isn’t appropriate...

    Help

I’m assuming if you’ve been using libre for a while these lows are not due to you lying on the sensor (usually called compression lows)? I think however hard it is you do need to talk to your diabetic nurse about whether your insulin dose needs adjusting to avoid these lows. Does your medical...

    Help

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Firstly, yes you have created your first post absolutely correctly. It’s very poor that you haven’t been able to talk to a diabetic nurse for that long. 41 is a very good result, and a massive improvement over your last result. What have you changed to achieve...

    Shuggah

I keep Bluetooth off in the librelink app. Scan librelink to start the sensor, then add the sensor to Zukka (with Bluetooth enabled for Zukka). Zukka should work ok. Then I manually scan the sensor in librelink 4 times a day which brings the data in there and allows my dsn to see it. Does that...

    Shuggah

I think you’ll only ever reliably be able to use Shuggah or Zukka as used together they will be fighting for the Bluetooth connection. Glad it’s sorted for now. I’d be lost without the readings on my watch.

    Shuggah

I was wondering if you turn the blue tooth off in librelink can you then scan it manually? If you can it shows that the NFC scan works, so then that’s not the problem with scanning in Shuggah. If you can’t then I’m not an expert but I think there may be an issue either with the sensor, or your...

I agree. I love having my blood sugar on my watch, and also on apple car play when I’m driving.

    Shuggah

If it won’t scan in Shuggah or librelink then it sounds like the sensor might be faulty.

    Shuggah

Is that Zukka? I’m finding with the libre 2+ that I need to scan a few times to get it to connect but it does then connect. I assume it works when you scan in librelink? You could try asking on the Facebook group I linked above.

    Shuggah

You can’t have Bluetooth enabled for both and have reliable connections according to the team that developed the software.. So you can’t get continuous readings in Shuggah/zukka/xdrip4ios. But you can still scan manually at intervals to keep the data on libreview.
