What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I get these ones http://www.lowcarbmegastore.com/acatalog/Low-Carb-Multigrain-Bagels-340g-Pack-of-6-LK105.html#SID=73 . They're a little pricey due to being imported from America and it's best to freeze them on receipt, but they're a really good bread substitute for only 2g carbs. I love them...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Managed to catch my sugars yesterday at 9.2 which considering I ate a very large amount of wedding cake and risotto isn't too bad - previous carb tests have led to results in the 10s, so I am quite happy to peak at 9.2. Hoping this means progress is...

90 per cent of obese people have to cope with fat shaming, according to new report

I think one of the issues that comes with fat shaming - at least in my case - is the mental health repercussions that come with it. I've been bullied my whole life for being fat, and that's given me a lot of mental health issues. Just the thought of going to a gym or going swimming gives me an...

    Pre-diabetes or not?

Definitely bad for dogs, it can be fatal. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol (or polyol) so while it will contain carbs, polyols generally aren't processed by the body in the same way as regular carbs, so you are likely to have much less of a sugar spike (or no spike at all) using it instead of regular...

Do I have diabetes or just hypochondria!?

My apologies, I misunderstood the prescription change - I thought 0.25 and 0.5 were the "back to normal" ones. Eyes are funny things aren't they? I hope your blood test can shed some light on the matter! :)

Do I have diabetes or just hypochondria!?

No optical test as far as I'm aware, I think that would just be a standard blood test to check the glucose more than anything! Lenticular complications are possible, however it is still odd for an astigmatism to go back to normal as in OP's case (not impossible... but very unlikely)

    McDonalds

Oh no, don't tell me this, now I want to experiment...!! ;) It may be that the fat content helped slow down the sugar spike from the carbs. Those are great readings though, glad it didn't cause any damage :)

Do I have diabetes or just hypochondria!?

Did you have retinal photography done at your eye test, or have a visual field test done? That is where they usually pick up on any eye-related diabetes issues. If they didn't mention anything then you're likely not to have any diabetes eye-related issues. Your vision would also depend on the...
