    GoApe!

Woohoo. I did GoApe last year. Luckily I am on a pump and did reduce my basal for the few hours I was there. I also have the Libre and miaomiao combination to alert me for lows. Have an amazing day and don't worry too much about your diabetes BUT do keep an eye on your bloods :)

    Freestyle libre

Some good advice already given here. Definitely use the wipes in the box and allow to dry - fully. I use the insides of my arm as its a little flatter there. I really have to peel them off after 14 days, they stick to me like limpets

Have you done a Bluetooth scan on your phone? Both with the Xdrip+ and with the phone. Just to see if the phone is picking up the MM?

    Beginning again

Hey Charlie. Good on you for wanting to improve your management.......with regards to your higher BG readings....have you done a basal test recently? Getting your background insulin correct makes life a lot easier to gain control over your meal doses. My diabetic team at my local hospital can...

Medtronic's MiniMed insulin pumps remotely hackable

Medtronic did recall all of their older pumps but most did not return them as they are "looping" with the older pumps

    Sugar level spike after breakfast

Hi @Maisie1998. I eat really sweet breakfast cereals and dont see mant spikes at all. I am on a pump and use Fiasp insulin. When I was using NovoSluggish I used to spike after most meals but it was never consistent. NovoRapin (Sluggish), as @ert has said, has a long fixed curve to its action...

@Rokaab forget to say, you will soon see why a lot of people put down that they are having a "naked" shower :) When your set change and Libre change is due on the same day.......its the best shower ever :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    Type 1 HELP ME PLEASE!

Type 1 is tough, not an easy ride at all. A few years ago I had a super high HBA1C (had been for a while), my consultant referred me to a diatition and with her help, I have turned my type 1 around. Get on to your diabetes team, not your GP, and ask for help. Not what you want to hear BUT...

    Pump accessories

@Rokaab the tube feeling will go pretty soon. You wont even know you have the pump on you in a week or so. I have had a couple of different belts, Amazon etc and they are not very well made. The HidIn ones are brilliant

1st of all thanks everyone, now a few more questions

Have a chat with your DSN and ask her about doing a basal test. If you can get your basal dose correct it does make life a bit easier! Well if you can count anything easy as a type 1 ;):angelic:

How high can blood sugar climb after a meal (spike) in non diabetics?

Cherries have zero effect on me, unless I eat a shed load of them. So glad we are all so very different

1st of all thanks everyone, now a few more questions

Personally, I would not be using chocolate to sort a low(ish) BG out. As has been previously said chocolate has a high GI and can take an age to get into your system......you really need glucose tabs or possibly jelly babies for your lows in the future..... As for your rise, I cant see 2...

About to start (ok, next week)

I found not carrying a pen around really difficult for the first few days and not doing a basal shot in the evening was hard as well. Good idea hiding the pens.....also take the needles off them as well
