"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Sorry to hear about the accident with the battery and hope your husband's toe heals rapidly - it must be painful for him. And I hope your rash improves soon so that you both can feel a lot better. Enjoy that takeaway.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

You and yours are having a hard time of it @debs248. I hope both your husband and you feel better soon. I daresay it will take a while for that sore toe to feel comfortable to walk on though, but I hope your rash will ease rapidly and make you feel a lot more comfortable.

I'm beginning to feel lonely. I'm the only one posting here since Thursday. Everyone has a life to lead, I guess, unlike me. Breakfast today was the last of the beef mince with fried egg on top. Coffee and water to drink. A few slices of cheese about 2.30. 2nd meal will be fried duck...

Libre alarm woke me at 03.55 today - 3.5. Had the emergency toffee and got myself up. By the time I got through to the kitchen, BG was 7.6. I guess that shows that the toffee works but maybe my liver would have provided sufficient glucose anyway to get me out of the danger zone. Pan killers...

BG went down eventually so about 12.30 I had breakfast of the remaining beef mince with fried egg on top. Cups of coffee and water during the day didn't destabilise it and just had some cheese and ham roll-ups. Still in the 6's. So ultra low carb does seem to work. I'll try that for a few...

Not happy today. Bad night and painful morning so far. BG rising despite only having water and basal insulin so far today. No reason that I can tell, except serious pain from just about every joint in my body. I suppose that could do it.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Bad (short) night. Took painkillers about 23.30 last night. I try not to do that because, if I get too sore during the early hours, I can take them then. There has to be a gap of at least 4 hours between doses. But last night, it was bad, so I took them. They didn't really work and sleep...

I never know what to say that might help @Lamont D. Your situation is awful and it pains me to read about it. The only thing I can do is think of you and pray for you both, and that I do every day. And give you virtual hugs, of course. You are lucky to have your family around you. That must...

My SIL in Ayrshire got home from hospital on Monday. That was 61/2 months in hospital for a minor fall because, getting taken to hospital, her care package was taken away. She only needed to be there for a check-up and could have got home in a couple of days but before discharge the hospital...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

8.1 at 03.45 today. Pills, coffee and a doze in the chair led to a BG of 10.7 an hour later. Someone said that coffee has no carbs in it - maybe they weren't talking about instant coffee. Otherwise it doesn't make sense. Wet and windy today. Not very warm either. The thermostat is set to...

Shame that they didn't get you to clean the Velux before it was put in, but maybe they realised they would be messing it up in the process. Careful on that scary scaffold. The "optimistic" was for avoiding the stress eating.

I like that creative Gennepher. Sorry to hear about the loss of power, but let's hope they've got it sorted by now. Even more sorry (hug) for the tummy issues. Do you know what it was that caused it?

Breakfast was some more of the chicken "chowder" from yesterday. That's it finished now. 2nd meal will be beef mince in some form - probably ragout. I was going to make something else with it to keep in the freezer (kind of terrine) but we had a bit of a problem with the shopping this week -...

Just back from the leg bandaging. More complicated today because Neil has hurt his back and couldn't get the wheelchair in and out of the car, or push me in it - and that's not even thinking about the shopping. Phoned and asked if Em could help out, but she had just gone to bed after working...

Breakfast was salmon mayo with two low carb crackers. At least, I thought they were low carb but just to check (after the event, of course) I dug out my magnifying glass and checked the packet - 57g carb per 100g! That's every bit as bad as RyVita. The only good thing is, they are very light...

Can't quite remember but I think BG was 7.9 at 0350 today. Not great but not as bad as sometimes. Down to 5.5 now though, so - apart from the yo-yoing - it's not bad. Said to be 15C outside today and a slight breeze, but the slight breeze is whipping our trees around again, so it's a bit more...
