    Levels

I would expect to see better levels than that after 2 weeks tbh. It looks to me like your dosing is not correct. In theory within a few days you should see much better levels if the dosing is correct. I think you need to start with a basal test, do a fasted test and see if your levels are...

    Libre sensor and airports

I have a generic letter from the GP stating I need to carry diabetic medicine and equipment. Never had any issues and to be honest nobody has even asked to look at the letter.

    Diabetes type /help needed

The past few years has changed my life with diabetes. Been diagnosed ~18 years, but finding this website and learning everything I can about the condition has really given me a new lease of life. Plenty of info here and people to help, any questions, fire away!

    Scared of the Risks!

As above, you usually only see reports when things go bad, so its very skewed. But either way, as you said you are not looking to have children in the immediate future, why not spend this time learning more about diabetes and getting it under better control? You don't have to do this for others...

    Libre Sensor

There is a small 5mm filament type needle which inserts into the skin (similar size to a 5mm BD microfine needle for insulin). It stays there for the two weeks.

    Libre Sensor

Yes I get it sometimes, its gone after a day or two. As above probably close to a nerve/vessel etc. I usually head to the gym, do an arm workout and its gone :)

    Freestyle Libre Availability

Yes seems to be a supply issue. I'm so reliant now, I would be willing to pay for it if I could get hold of one, but nobody has any stock, its all special order...

    Diabetes affecting daily life

Exactly, not that I wouldn't swap diabetes in a heart beat if I could. But having the condition has led me to learn so much more about diet, nutrition and how it all affects the body. Which I most likely would not have gone into the depth I have without diabetes...

    Diabetes affecting daily life

I've been diabetic for ~18 years, from the age of 8. Teenage years were a bit bumpy as I guess I was just ill informed. I've never thought I can't do something because I'm diabetic, yes I have to monitor my levels several times a day and inject (being type 1), but I've gone through college...

    So much to learn

Learning is a lifelong process. The aim with diabetes is to learn and implement the things that will aid the most in BG control. What to eat, what medication to use, how it affects the body, lifestyle requirements etc. Then start to fine-tune it.

Best Time of Year to Do the HbA1c Test?

I went to Amsterdam before Christmas, ate cheesecakes etc and a lot more food than I usually would from the buffets. Also throughout the Christmas period and hba1c was lowest it had ever been. Obviously for me its more about insulin management as a type 1. Although many years ago I used to...

    Feel like hell every day...

Are you on medication? Tablets or MDI's? hba1c doesn't give you an overall picture as its in general terms an average glucose level. If you run very low a lot of the time that can balance out any highs to give a false sense of control. It could be diet related, weight related, lack of exercise...

First European study tests pioneering stem cell therapy in people with type 1 diabetes

This is the most promising thing I've seen, as it doesn't require a lifetime of immune suppressants, it is a patch which goes under the skin (lasts for x amount of time) produces insulin and can be replaced when needed. Lets hope it brings some good results from the clinical trials. Still a few...

Type 2 What herbs and spices have you found helpful in reducing blood sugar and insulin resistance?

As said by HSSS, the carb effect most likely overrides the slight if any beneficial effect of the herbs/spices. If you overload your system with carbs a small amount of herbs wont do much. But if its a low carb diet, some herbs/spices may be able to aid with glucose control.

Type 2 What herbs and spices have you found helpful in reducing blood sugar and insulin resistance?

That's more likely to do with the amount of flour (chapatti's, naans, bread), rice, potatoes etc. they consume. Not the herbs themselves. They have an abundance of farming land so those foods are widely available.
