    Dexcom readings

Morning All It is not possible to calibrate Dexcom One. The only way to calibrate is to use an App such as Shuggah. I used Dexcom One for 3 months. Some of the sensors were excellent, others not so. When I called Dexcom they told me 20% difference between finger prick and Dexcom was...

    Omnipod dash

Hi Nannynet I do get highs after a pod change. I discussed this with the Pump Team locally and was advised to give a bolus following a pod change. I try to change my pod just before a meal to time it with my meal time bolus. You are right about not knowing what change has had an effect if you...

    Omnipod dash

Hi Nannynet Congratulations on moving onto the Omnipod Dash. I had lots of issues with nightime lows before going onto the Omnipod. It took some time to get my basal rate fine tuned. I am running at the lowest amount overnight. For me I have my basal rate lower and my insulin to carb ratio...

    Dexcom One Silent mode

I tried Dexcom One with Shuggah and found it useful being able to calibrate. The only issue I had then was that I had switch blue tooth off from Dexcom because Shuggah needed access to Bluetooth. As a consequence none of the data went to Dexcom clarity. Hope this makes sense

Omnipod Dash v Minimed 780 pump

Hi. I currently use the Omnipod Dash and am very happy with it. For a short period I used the Medtronic 640 but changed to the Omnipod as I found the set changes difficult due arthritis in my hands. I suppose much depends on whether you want a tubed or tubeless pump. If you go onto YouTube...

Switching pump while still in warranty? So many problems

Morning. I changed pump under warranty although not for the same reasons As yourself. I had a Medtronic pump and changed to the Omnipod as I was finding set changes impossible due to arthritis is my hands I did have to keep contacting the Pump team to get this to happen. The consultant in...

    Dexcom One Silent mode

Morning I am currently using Dexcom One. It does say in the settings section under alerts that Dexcom One will not override your phone settings and that if your phone is set to silent you will not hear or feel alerts. I get alerts on my Apple Watch when my phone is on silent not sure if this...

Diabetes and Other Conditions (Ulcerative Colitis/J-Pouch)-Diabetes Medicine Issues

Hi ChrisKH Sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. I also have colitis and was on metformin for short period. I also was unable to tolerate it. I was subsequently discovered to have Type 1 so am now on insulin. When you have various health issues it can be very difficult to find...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

I am sorry but I cannot help with the alert you are geting. I have not experienced that issue. Perhaps a call to Dexcom might give you some answers. Re using Dexcom one with an android smart watch, I have an Apple watch and using Shuggah I can see readings on my watch. I was unable to find...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Just an update. I am now on my 4th Dexcom sensor. I have had 2 replaced. One because of very inaccurate readings, the because of “brief sensor issue“ which kept recurring. The message indicated brief sensor issue please wait up to 3 hours. Not what I would call brief. This went on for about 4...

Omnipod PDM bleeping after pod change

Hi Soplewis12 I have also experienced this. For me it seems to correspond with changes in basal rate. Not sure if this is right or not. I was planning to ask at my next pump review.

    Travel Insurance

I used SAGA recently and they were very reasonable. I asked for a quote from Staysure for a trip to the USA. The response was over £2000. Needless to say I did not accept the quote

    Omnipod failure rate

The reason I carry pens & needles not syringes is that locally we are not routinely issued with syringes

    Humiliation at Manchester airport

I empathise with you. I had a similar experience at Bristol Airport. I use the Omnipod Dash which cannot go though the scanner. I explained this. They then frisked me and swabbed my Omnipod Dash. They then marched me across the concourse to a small room by 2 members of staff, minus my shoes...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Hi Marie 2 Thanks for that. Like you I like things to be as accurate as possible. I will try again when I change the sensor the next time. It is not possible to calibrate Dexcom 1 so I am unable to improve the accuracy that way. I am hoping for great things for Dexcom I found Libre 2 very poor

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Just a quick update. I am now on my 3rd sensor. My second was very inaccurate. Dexcom replaced it. This sensor is fairly accurate. Sometimes very close only 0.1 or 0.3 different from a finger prick. Other times 0.5 - 0.7 different. The accuracy improves once the sensor has been on for 2 - 3...

    Type 1 Dexcom One

Hi I have just started using Dexcom, on my first sensor. No issues thus far. Thankfully none of the issues you have experienced I have found it much better than Libre 2 which for me was terrible. Very inaccurate, overnight it regularly alarmed low when I was not. Signal loss was also a...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Hi Jackois Sorry to take so long to respond, just noticed your post. I am in UK. I got my order the next day. So far Dexcom One is working very well. For me very accurate about 0.1 - 0.2 difference from finger pricks. The first 24 hours were not so accurate. Not sure if I should try inserting...

    What questions to ask

Hi Tin-Owl Sorry I just noticed your post. I am pleased your appt went well. It sounds fairly much like mine. I hope you hear soon about their decision. Sounds positive though. I hope the reduction in basal rate helps with the night- time lows. The pumps on offer locally were Medtronic...
