I can understand your apprehension about starting insulin. That was me last September. You may well find that your body reacts to having a lower blood sugar. That will settle.

A lot of sugar such as in dextrose tablets can have a laxative effect.

I get mine from he chemist. The DSN gave me a form to start this of. Now I just take the full ones to the chemist and get an empty one. It does seem to differ depending on where you live. I would suggest your DSN in the first instance

eddie1968 your story very familiar to mine. I was tried on about 5/6 drugs before I started on insulin. I did query this at the outset, however when it came to the final pill I asked to be referred to the local Diabetic Clinic.
