    Wait times for DVLA

Good Morning Brambly Hedge I replaced my licence earlier this year. I got my licence back before my old one expired. That was despite having to complete additional forms after the initial one. There were time limits on sending back the second form so probably depends on how low you are away...

    Type 1'stars R Us

My rationale for pump therapy were the lows I had most nights. This went on for some time no matter how much I altered my insulin both basal and bolus. My long acting insulin was also changed. I was at the end of my tether. I would agree that pump therapy has improved quality of my life.

    Type 1'stars R Us

Hi SherwoodT1 i have been on a pump now for three years. My initial pump clinic appt was about pumps in general and the the types on offer locally. There were reps from Omnipod, Medtronic and Tandem Slim to demonstrate the pumps. We needed to provide evidence of having completed a course such...

Anyone with Rheumatoid Arthritis - who became T2 - or was already?

Hi swissmiss I have a form of Rheumatoid arthritis. I had been diagnosed with type 2 by the time my arthritis was diagnosed. I also have other autoimmune conditions. My diagnosis was changed to type 1 after this. The treatment I received for my arthritis initially did cause issues with my...

    Gastroscopy and no insulin?

Hi DiabeticDi Not sure if this is any help. I had cataract surgery under general anaesthetic recently. I have a pump. After discussion with the pump team as I felt my basal was currently running at the correct rate they advised me to leave my basal alone and obviously no bolus. Not sure how...

    Guardian G4 sensor questions

Morning EllieM I have watched the video and like yourselve I do not find it helpful. When I moved to a pump I selected a medtronic but found it very difficult to carry out a set change due to arthritis in my hands. On reflection what I should have done is asked to practice a set change...

    New to pump therapy.

Hi JemH I am an Omnipod Dash user, approx 2 years. You are right it is so easy to use. I now use patches to keep the pod securely in place. I have tried various, for me the Omnipod pals work best and are the easiest to put on. As for blood sugars rising, like you I verify the readings with a...

    Carbs and Cals book

I agree with previous posters. I use the carbs & cal app. I refer to the carbs when carb counting. If you read packaging it includes sugar along with the carbs. Therefore no need look for amount of sugar Hope this makes sense

    Omniipod dash fell off

Morning Nannynet I have not experienced a pod falling off. I have experienced other things such as bleeding and bruising. I wonder if the problem is the size of your arms related to the size of the pod and getting the pod on a flattish area of your arm. I have started using adhesive overlays...

High blood sugar following cortisone injection

In my experience levels decreased slowly. Steroids really helped me so it was balancing the side effects against the benefits

High blood sugar following cortisone injection

Hi dianewilliamson27 I have many doses of steroids both into joints and orally and I have found the raised levels last for about a week. Sometimes a bit longer. It is good that you do not have any ketones. Your Diabetes Team should be able to give some guidance Hope things begin to improve soon

    Dexcom ONE sensor code ?

Morning Urb At least you now have the sensor working albeit not accurately. I have tried to calibrate mine without success. I cannot enter blood glucose values in the app. The current sensor is reasonably accurate though. About 1 mmol out

    Omnipod dash

Hi Nannynet I would agree that control seems to vary depending on where the pod is located. For me seems better on my arms and legs. Tummy is a bit hit or miss. It is frustrating that things vary so much on a day to day basis. There are so many things that can affect control. Diabetes is not...

    Dexcom ONE sensor code ?

Hi urbanracer I am dexcom one user. The codes are unique to each sensor and transmitter. I can give you the ones I am using but I do not think they will work. Not if Dexcom are available on Sundays. They would be the best people to help here. Good luck here

    Omnipod dash

Hi Nannynet Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I had cataract surgery on both eyes last week and am finding using screens and reading very challenging. I will not get new glasses till my eyes heal ( 6 weeks then I can have an eye test and get new glasses ordered ) Things are slowly...
