    Barefoot Advice

:)I am now of an age when I really don't give a toss what something looks like..... I have several pairs of crocs and have been known to wear a different colour on each foot, carefully co ordinated of course. Being older is such fun! :p

lost the plot for 2 days over xmas made a big diffrence to bs

I stayed on the wagon all over Christmas but it's just lost a wheel and I've fallen off!. Have figured it's ok to sin for a few hours. Tomorrow isn't just a new day, it's a New Year! :p

DON'T BUY YOUR OWN GLUCOSE TESTERS!!!

I am Type2 insulin dep and not denied strips.... BUT I am restricted to ONE pack per month. Of little use to me, a low carber who tests at least 7 times a day, more if I'm driving! So I have to buy extra strips which costs me more than my monthly food bill :(

    struggling to buy blood tester

Really? How fascinating! Over the years I've had a few meters, all of which have been totally reliable and as accurate as a meter can be. I've just started using a new free Contour, which I tested against my old free Breeze last night using the same blood sample. The result....just 0.1mmol...

    Barefoot Advice

I used to be a barefoot woman, love to feel the different textures beneath my feet, especially grass. Visits to podiatry usually involves "discussion" followed by big sighs from them as I slip back into my beloved, oh so comfy crocs. However, for safety sake I do now wear appropriate footwear...

    The Usual...Leftover Turkey

:):)Ummm...we could live on coconut milk, goat milk, goat cheese, bounty bars (minus the chocolate coating!).... and make coconut oil in which to fry the fish we catch.... ready filleted of course! Fried cheese is nice too ;)

    The Usual...Leftover Turkey

Sounds delicious. Think I'll try it with one of the bags of left over turkey which is now frozen. I don't do goose or duck. Purely sentimental, illogical reasons, I spend too much time studying and photographing them! :)

    The Usual...Leftover Turkey

:)I am stuffed! I made a left over turkey curry using Andy's recipe, to which I added 50g each of creme fraiche and double cream plus enough water to turn it into a thick sauce. Added some cooked turkey chunks and simmered it for about 15 mins.... Served with cauli mash, YUM!

    Low Carb bread

:joyful::joyful:...excellent! I spoke to the manager at my local Morrisons. She said she'd "look into it" and "there was no call for that particular bread", so I suggested if they marketed it properly then there would be. We await developments but not holding my breath, lol.

    Low Carb bread

I've asked my local Morrisons to stock it a couple of times, but no joy. I'm going there later so will mention it to them again! :/

Hypo but I Don't Feel it!

Thank you everyone for sharing information. A couple of points.... ( Not **** Brett. All useful knowledge!:) ) I'm gradually understanding more about the science behind LC, it's fascinating and makes even more sense to me. Smidge, my Diabetic Nurse mentioned the possibility of swapping to...

Surely it's our prerogative to post as we see fit! Personally I've had two bad experiences with my GPs concerning diabetic care, which has damaged my faith in them! No doubt there are many decent teams out there, but conversely there are bad ones too. You are a prolific poster, have picked a...

Hypo but I Don't Feel it!

Mo, as I said to Smidge, it's not recognising the hypo which bothers me... I drive and always test before I drive but also rely on my own ability to recognise a potential hypo. I'm concerned that last nights hidden hypo wasn't just a one off and if that's the case what's gone wrong.

Hypo but I Don't Feel it!

It wasn't so much the hypo, it was not recognising it which bothered me. I'm usually aware once it drops below 5. I'm wondering if low carbing has anything to do with it......not that I will give it up! Since starting low carb 30g per day, I simply don't ever feel hungry.

Hypo but I Don't Feel it!

Ok, thanks again. BTW....It wasn't a gentle walk. It was a brisk one, almost three miles with just a couple of wee stops...for the dog, not me! Rosie goes like a train, lol.
