fish chips peas and gravy and two buttered bread

:) Pan fried fish, or take the batter off fish from the local chippy, celariac chips, two rounds of Livlife bread, lavishly buttered, plus frozen petit pois which according to Carb Counter, have just 1.0 net carbs per 100g. Not a bad substitute.....;) Enjoy. Geri Ps. Don't forget salt and...

Goodness..some of you must rattle!! I've ditched a few so I now regularly take 28 tabs per week plus insulin and sometimes pain killers.

Anonymous Question Why is my husband's penis swollen?

Yes, it must be very painful for him! If you can't get an emergency appointment with your gp today, go to A&E. Take care

    Lantus

@Alanp35 Thanks Alan, you're a great support. When it actually came down to starting basal/bolus, something I've been pushing for, I was quite nervous, lol. The weekend was rubbish, but today is a little better. DN told me to only bonus for carbs, BUT after doing some reading on here I bolused...

    Low Carb bread ?

Livlife is good. It doesn't spike me at all. The slices are small but satisfying when filled with loads of salad etc. At the moment I'm not eating grains but hope to have a go again soon. Livlife is currently only available in Waitrose or online...its supposed to be stocked by some branches of...

    Low, Lower?

@Joe Sweatthang Thanks Joe and yes I agree with you in that drugs are often overprescribed...eg statins being prescribed ad lib and leaving people with awful side effects ( I know, I've been there). As for insulin, well, my body no longer produces any or is of such poor quality that its good...

    Low, Lower?

Thank you smidge, your post is very encouraging! :). I've had my first two days of basal/bolus and they've been a bit of a challenge. I awoke this morning to a 10.5 ( yuck!) and have spent most of today out with my dog doing extra miles, and juggling carbs rather than hiking up the insulin....no...

    Lantus

I've only just started (yesterday) using Lantus Solstar as my basal and am having problems, not unexpected, because it's going to take a while to sort out correct dosage. If your GP agrees to a change, I hope it works for you.

Benefits of Cinnamon ( your veiws please)....

I love the taste of cinnamon and use it wherever I can. I used to add a half teaspoonful to my porridge....before I switched to low carb. I think it can be beneficial for diabetics, especially type 2 diet controlled but you have to be careful which one you use. Culinary cinnamon can contain a...

    Low, Lower?

@lizdeluz :) It's great isn't it. I saw my hospital DN again yesterday to go though a change in my insulin regime. She was much more supportive this time and very interested in my diet. Lots of luck for your appointment :) Take care. Geri x
