    hi all.....wheat free

I'm sorry you have so many problems and I don't know how much going wheat free will help overall but I've been doing it for a couple of months now and it's made a huge difference. I was investigated for coeliac disease a couple of years ago, but results were negative so my problems were put down...

    Milk on low-carb

:) Hi Jude I eat low carb too. You're looking at about 10carbs per 250 ml of milk. I don't like Almond milk in tea or coffee but it's fine as a warm drink on it's own and those who eat cereal use it. Lactofree milk works well in tea and coffee, I'm fussy, lol, but I can't tell the difference...

    Low, Lower?

Thank you :joyful:. Wish I could say it was hard work... but it wasn't! In all my 22 yrs of struggling to achieve a reasonable level of control over this monster, I've never found a way I knew I could live with forever, until I came across Low Carbing ;) Geri xx

    hunger?

You're t1 aren't you so maybe you need a bit of help from other t1s with regard to insulin v food. However were you not t1, I'd say you need to eat more protein and fat with your salads, both stave off hunger pangs ;) Good luck!

    Breakfast

As Mo said.....Plus scrambled, poached eggs, omelettes, cheese, cold meats, fish.....Full fat Greek yogurt with a few walnuts, blueberries, and a bit of flax and coconut to add chewiness is good. There's no reason either why you can't have left overs from dinner the night before. It took me a...

Should diabetics have better knowledge of other types of diabetes

I'm T2 insulin dep currently on Humalogmix which needs different management to basal/bolus regime and I don't have the luxury of shooting for the number of carbs I eat, which is what T1s do. Apart from diet for T2s on diet ( been one of those, done that) I don't comment on management for the...

The new Accu-Chek 'Mobile' ... real nifty piece of kit.

Looks good but you still have to buy the cassettes which retail at £20+... (although cheaper on eBay)

    Low, Lower?

Thank you for your advice. I do drive and always test pre driving and every two hours when I'm out. Will wait and see what Dr Price has to say, hopefully not a recommendation that I lose my licence!

    Low, Lower?

Ive been eating LCHF for about four months and today got my latest HbA1c. I am chuffed and delighted to report it's down from 89 last December to 46. I am very pleased but want to get it at least into the mid 5s. BUT....my DN at the hospital, whilst saying well done, says it's now borderline...

Type 2 - MMOL Levels concern

Hi again Diamond52 :) I am not a doctor so can't really comment on his diagnosis of vertigo for someone complaining of abdominal and leg pain or his choice of medication. Are you sure you've got the right word? Anyway, as regards your diet....water is important so try chilling it and adding a...

Type 2 - MMOL Levels concern

Hello Diamond52. With figures that high you must be feeling dreadful. I am very surprised your GP says its ok, because it really isn't! As has already been said you need to make another appointment asap. As you're complaining of abdo pain it's possible you may be brewing up some sort of...

What foods do you miss most

I don't miss anything, not even bread which was my most favourite food. Me and my body are happy knowing the food I eat is satisfying and good for me, so why would I hanker back to the old days of high BG with all it's inherent problems (both current and future), diarrhoea, constipation...
