    Mental health and test results

You have my sympathy. It's hard enough managing one medical condition, the more you have the more exhausting it gets. Well done on lowering the HbA1c, you must have worked really hard. Are you getting any help for the anxiety? My husband has had severe anxiety and depression for years and has...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

11.7 Back to "normal". Appeared to be hydrated but still had to stab 4 times before getting a decent blood drop. So frustrating, and my regular fingertips are all bruised now so may have to try little finger this evening.

Need to vent - *&@# GP surgery messing me about

Always been on the low side of normal in the past. I may have low blood volume as a result of ME/ CFS but that's harder to measure.

Need to vent - *&@# GP surgery messing me about

Not completely, I'm OK during the day but still wake up too dehydrated to test first thing. It took 3 large mugs of tea today before I got enough blood. Thank you and good luck to both of you too.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

8.3 Much later than usual due to dehydration and needing an extra 2 mugs of tea before testing.

Too dehydrated to test first thing so had a couple more mugs of tea and tried again - 8.3 Lowest fasting reading so far but it was much later than usual.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Too dehydrated to test first thing, after an extra two mugs of tea and a couple of hours of pottering about it was 8.3. Very weird, as I haven't taken any meds yet.

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Yesterday I had Bacon and eggs Sauerkraut followed by egg mayo, cucumber, tomato. May have overdone the sauerkraut (wanted to finish off the tub) as it was followed by explosive toilet visit, oops. Mozzarella, olives, chorizo plus a handful of cheesy nibbles bought for xmas and now going out...

Pork or turkey mince also work but need stronger seasoning. Agree no need to add anything other than egg to bind, as long as you don’t mind it being a bit crumbly. Diced onion will make it fall apart even more so you could use onion powder instead. Versions I have enjoyed include Pork with...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

10.5 again. That's 6 days out of 7 being between 10.5-11, no matter what/ when I eat before bed, or how much sleep I get. Hope the Co-op bank thing sorts itself out without further complications - I use them too.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I'm not noticing any effects from either high blood sugar, low carb or menopause, but then I have always been very tolerant of the cold. In my teens, when I ate carbs and had no blood sugar issues, I wore shorts all year round as I found central heating too warm - my mum would say "I feel cold...
