Vinegar Tablets and Fasting Blood Glucose Reading

I take Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar, didn't really test if any differences with regards to diabetes, but it was good for my gastro system I think, and I don't catch the flu as often. My elderly friends also take it and it seems to perk them up.

Is Diabetes Risk Reduced by 3-5 Cups of Coffee a Day? - EveryDay Diabetes Magazine

I drank 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day for many years, even more sometimes, and I still got diabetes :(. Maybe the steroids I was taking were just too much, all in a span of around 6 months only.

    Morning Dump

If you are on metformin, how about trying to take your last metformin for the day as late as possible, just before going to bed or an hour before bed ? It works for me, stops the liver dump, and I get good morning levels...

Why do I keep going and eating carbs......

I read about this too, and I do it sometimes. Same with toasting bread, it is supposed to lower GI more. As for carbs, I always eat rice, like half a small bowl, 2x a day. Basmati rice, long-grain rice. I also have a low GI bread toast in the night sometimes, as well as a small piece of 85%...

Glicazide added to my repeat prescription

But even if gliclazide is a sulphonylurea, it is still a different drug and was not studied in that article, and it's a newer generation. I think it's the only sulphonylurea in the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines, the most important medications needed in a basic health system, together...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I've been having a slice of this new low-GI bread occasionally, about 9.75g carb per slice, toasted to further lower GI, with butter (and ham sometimes). Satisfies my bread craving with minimal impact on my blood sugar. Only found in Singapore though...

    Trying to understand insulin resistance

I thought this was interesting : " What are the symptoms of insulin resistance and prediabetes? Insulin resistance and prediabetes usually have no symptoms. People may have one or both conditions for several years without knowing they have them. Even without symptoms, health care providers can...

Refused Flu Tablets at the Chemist

I've got prostatitis besides diabetes Type 2, and decongestants are a bad idea, as they affect the prostate and in effect the urinary tract. However, newer antihistamines are fine, fexofenadine for example, like in the brand Telfast, great for bad colds. I smoke, so getting a cold is worse as...

Vitamin D deficiency could increase risk of diabetic retinopathy

Interesting study. I take Vitamin D3 anyway, like 2000IU per day, since I don't have enough sun.

Glicazide added to my repeat prescription

I don't know about gliclazide burning out beta cells, the literature is that it will protect whatever beta cells are left. So far, gliclazide has been good for me. It was prescribed to me 2 weeks from diagnosis, after metformin alone was not working enough. I also know someone who has the...

Are brief high sugar spikes OK?

I am doing well in managing my BS, but that is with medication / diet / supplements / exercise, 3+ months since diagnosis, and it just keeps getting better. I would not like 4 months of 8.5, I'd suggest having medicine first, let it go down asap to a good level and be happier, and then slowly...

Preventing or treating hard skin from lancet damage

According to Dr. Bernstein, don't use alcohol which will harden the skin, just wash hands before pricking. I used to use alcohol, but I haven't reached the point of testing where my skin hardened, but stopped anyway after seeing the Bernstein video. What happened instead was that my fingers...

    Blood Glucose Device

When I first went to buy a meter, I was overwhelmed by the choices at the store, so went back home without one. I wouldn't know by myself how accurate a meter is unless I had access to a hospital device, so I relied on reviews. I got the Freestyle Freedom Lite, after checking online, like its...

    Blood Glucose Device

Yes, I also saw one article about measuring from sweat - http://www.designntrend.com/articles/69227/20160128/new-sweat-monitor-replace-blood-tests.htm Of course, consistent accuracy is most important, and not end up like Theranos' product, marketed already but inaccurate, which translates to...
