    Type 2 VICTOZA

I've lost 10kg in 3 months and my blood sugars have halved. For me it has been a wonder drug but I did my research first and made an informed choice.

What do you want to know? If you are looking at the pancreas cancer scares - look at the original research. It's a minor rise in risk and then compare to the increased risks you already have she to diabetes and possibly increased weight.

    Just started Victoza

I know - just me panicking and tbh what I should be aiming for but when your previous readings have been 17+, a 5.4 after a couple of simple injections is a shock! Thanks for the reassurance and taking the time to post.

    Just started Victoza

I had a 5.4 which scared me as hadn't seen it that low! Back in the 7's so would like a little lower but I am moving gradually to lower carb to help. I do find its slowed digestion so once every 36-48 hours is normal for me and I have to make an effort to eat fibre. It has helped with my IBS...

    Just started Victoza

I never really had the sickness - I hate being sick too. I did get the odd bout of nausea and I couldn't eat much in the mornings. Still can't. Have been on it about 12 weeks with no real side effects. I have lost weight and it makes me feel full which is a novel feeling. My blood sugar...

Type 1 and Exhausted with normal bloods

There are a lot of viral infections doing the rounds and people are taking a long time to recover more like 10-14 days rather than the usual 4-7 days. They are making people feel awful, some get the hacking cough, some the headache, some the stomach version and others a sort of non specific not...

Blood glucose app for smartphone or mac?

I use the dario too. I wouldn't day the strips were cheap more in the reasonable range. £15 for 50. However the size of the device means it's easy to carry and discrete too. I would recommend.

I also reduced my food - tended to eat little or no breakfast - 1/4 slice of bread for example. For lunch 2 crackers and a bit of cheese or half a sandwich and in the evening half a tea plate of food. Carbs tended to help. Even now dinner fits on a side plate!

    Type 2 HbA1c

For me a wonder drug but I understand it may not stay that way. I think you also have to work with it as it let's you feel full but you can still over eat if you ignore that feeling.

Liraglutide is victoza. I have been on it now for 10 weeks - for me minimum side effects and great weight loss - about 10kg so far

    Liraglutide/Victoza type2

Started it 6 weeks ago, blood sugars under 8 from nearly 20 average. Have lost 6 kilos. Suppressed appetite but you have to recognise the effect and stop eating. A little bit of a rash every now and again around injection sites and found once I was used to injecting I was being too hard. Use...

    Terminal and Scared

Kevin It always surprises me how much pain the human body can take and still carry on. I hope that you eventually found some sleep. Today is for me the start of monitoring myself - I have had a few weeks of stress where I let things go and gradually reading your posts I have started grabbing...

    Terminal and Scared

Kevin I don't know what to say - just putting it down in writing must have been incredibly difficult. I have had a period of concern with a tumour the hospital forgot to tell me about but nothing that comes close to what you are going through. My thoughts are with you and your family which...

    Terminal and Scared

I'm just starting my diabetes journey and the lure of chocolate is still high and its so easy to give in. Your posts have hit home so whenever I feel tempted I will read your last post. Meanwhile on the kindle fire look at quick office - if its not in the Amazon app store you can side load it...
