    need information please

Not sure why you don't or can't get a GP. All will see you as a temporary resident for immediate and necessary treatment. If for some reason you are not allowed to stay in a GPs list for any period of time then NHS England is responsible for ensuring you get GP care and can force a practice to...

If the shoe fits as you say it works in so many ways. :)

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Same here impossible to get in and out of bath without help. Bought a hot tub this summer and that's manageable and lovely to be able to sit in warm water again. Have very hot showers and have the shower head centred on where the pain is highest. A 30 mins shower is not unheard of....

    Pain and blood sugar levels

I've found it very helpful for pain relief and to stop morning sickness. Didn't work for asthma or carpal tunnel for me.

    Pain and blood sugar levels

I seem to crave carbs when in pain - perhaps as they associate strongly with comfort food it hits the pleasure centres in my brain..

    Undiagnosed diabetes

My dad was diagnosed as type 2 after a heart attack for which the diabetes was a significant contributory factor.

Continuous Glucose Monitor. Mostly used by type 1's with a pump. Freestyle Libre is similar but can't be used with a pump - it measures your glucose every 5 mins and as long as you scan the sensor once every 8 hours this data is available showing all the results. You put a sensor on your arm (...

I also have sleep apnoea so diabetes was always going to become a close friend. Had a high carb day yesterday for no reason other than I had the urge. High BS all night 10.6 this morning though lower when I went to bed. Very stiff back, neck and shoulder today. Previously high carb binges...

    Metformin vs. Metformin Extended Release

I've had no problems with Sukkarto SR - it's really down to the individual but I always try the switch for a couple of weeks so that I can demonstrate any new side effects.

    Liraglutide

Was on it for about a year and then it stopped working. Whilst I was on it I had no problems. The issues re cancer when you look into it are a small increase in risk which I felt was worth it for the benefit. However once it stopped being so effective I switched off it and moved to insulin.

    Off my feet again...

You need to give yourself time to heal both physically and mentally. I'm the worst person to judge how far I can push myself and usually sail right across the line and end up making myself iller than I would have been had I taken my body's hint earlier. You've proved you've got tenacity...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Mine is spinal related too. No I meant that just as obesity is a risk factor but that not everyone who is overweight becomes diabetic and not everyone who has T2 is overweight perhaps chronic pain could also be a risk factor, perhaps more to the point anyone where inflammation may be the cause...

    Pain and blood sugar levels

Would totally agree. I don't think I've heard of any research suggesting chronic pain might be a risk factor for type 2 diabetes. I also think your diabetes has to be at certain levels with pain before it takes precedence over the pain.

    Pain and blood sugar levels

I think my pain is separate from my diabetes however I do think that pain meant I ate in a way which was more likely to encourage my diabetes to develop.

It's interesting how many of us diabetics also have pain issues.

I have 2 wireless ones - fantastic if you need them at work. Husband had back pain and I convinced him to try a tens machine, he didn't think it would work but was very surprised at how well it did. The adhesive does struggle with hairy backs.

The egg and sausage mcmuffin is also good without the muffin. Harvesters are reasonable and I have always found Morrison's coffee shops really good when you tell them.
