    Today's ultrasound

My ALT was ridiculously high at diagnosis - got the third degree about alcohol intake too! Then I went LCHF. On my next appointment my hba1c was at non diabetic levels and ALT was reduced four fold. He couldn't believe it. Neither could I really lol...

DO YOU TRUST YOUR BLOOD MONITOR

I can't see any reason not to trust your meter. Even if it's the worst meter it will still show you what spikes you. Then your hba1c will give you the bigger picture. :-))

DO YOU TRUST YOUR BLOOD MONITOR

My meter has allowed me to make pretty accurate hba1c predictions. I even say to the nurse let me predict before you give me the result. She was amazed.

What was everyone's blood when they go diagnosed?

7.4 or 57 - went in for acid indigestion. The GP saw I was over 40yrs and did lots of blood tests. I was caught early I think as I have now reversed the condition 12 months down the line.

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Was just experimenting - I rarely eat that many carbs in a full day normally. Ive never seen 11.0 on my meter before. I had a little mini panic! I was delighted to see the 6.6 reading. That may mean my body responded with a good amount of insulin....

I find it curious that I can be as negative as I wish with NHS treatment of diabetes but it seems that to want a second opinion of my diagnosis elicits a quite different response. It's interesting :)

    DIY OGTT

Yes I believe I started finger pricking within 3-4 weeks of diagnosis. I don't have a hypothesis I'm just seeking clarification of what the situation is. At the time of diagnosis I was recently bereaved and my diet and alcohol intake was not very good. I want to know if it was just for 3 months...
