Cheers, that's pretty much what I've been doing, just wondered if there was a magic rule out there somewhere.

    Strategy Advice

I'm using RapidCalc, so I end up with a meal dose and a negative correction dose (5 minus 8) which leaves me with a 0 RAI dose. I too test 2hr after a meal hence my question.

    Strategy Advice

A couple of times recently I have had the scenario of 0 units (RAI) required for a meal. BG 5.0 with a target BG of 8.0 and a 25 Carb meal (1 unit per 10g Ratio). However, my 2 hr blood has been very high with no IOB and I've had to take some RAI to correct. I was just wondering what different...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

After a lot of work just had 5.9% and got told it was too low and that I was at risk of developing Hypo unawareness and therefore upsetting the DVLA!!! I CAN'T WIN!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Type 1: How many times do you have to test your blood sugar

I test between 10-12 times a day as I like to know what's going on with my BS. As for your "diabetic nurse" is she an actual DSN or the practice nurse that in my experience is there to check your feet, blood pressure and treat you like all the Type 2's she sees daily! o_O

Just wait for the DVLA backlash against all diabetics!

Excited to talk about Type1 Diabetes.. but have things gone too far? [emoji26]

Hi Daisy, I too only started taking all this T1 seriously after a touch of retinopathy (seems to have settled after some laser treatment). I'd ignored the whole thing pretty much for 30 years. I would highly recommend getting a referral from your doctors for a course, an awful lot of ideas and...

    Driving Regulations

I would do everything they say! My Practice nurse lectured me on testing and driving (which I argued with), she then proceeded to phone the DVLA suggesting that I may not be testing enough (which I do) and they then took my licence away with no warning, court case or consolation. I fought and...

Yes, I'll have one of the little mini packs before I start, and then 1 every 30 mins while running. This seems to suit me.

New to site. Type1. questions about exercise

Hi David, I recently re-started running and found that keeping my initial runs to about only 30 mins with a blood test before and after gave me a good feel for how much Glucose (Haribo) to aim for. Keeping it to about 30 mins meant I couldn't get into too much trouble as long as my BG was...
