    Failing

Yeah, just to add to what Ellie's already said. It says pretty clearly here an HBA1C of 6.5% is within the normal range. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/managing-your-diabetes/hba1c So I'd personally feel like 6.5 as 'could be better' rather than being 'poor'.

COVID vaccine and extremely high blood sugars

Yeah there was a guy with Type 1 talking about how it effected him, and in addition to all the Covid symptoms he mentioned not being able to get his Blood Sugar below 16.

    Tresiba Issues

Two nights on. The overnight rises have calmed down significantly without increasing my Tresiba (so glad I didn’t jump the gun) The one curious thing is that sensitivity to Carbs is sky high. My blood sugar was dipping pre-bed last night. So had a five gram pick me up. This should my blood...

    Tresiba Issues

It’s interesting that you say 3am, because it’s 3am precisely I’ve been getting my rises. Even though, I wasn’t experiencing them prior to the Vaccination. I also take my Tresiba at 10:30pm. So our Tresiba’s on a similar schedule (ten units in my case). I suspect (with my limited experience)...

COVID vaccine and extremely high blood sugars

Further to my previous comment. I thought I’d got over the hump with increased insulin resistance after five days, but today it came right back, two weeks after my vaccination.

    Tresiba Issues

Hi Juicej, thanks again for your help. I think I’ve discovered a possible answer. The extreme insulin resistance I developed after the Corona Virus Vaccine returned today. So I don’t think I’ve kicked whatever that it is. So that’s at minimum skewing my results.

    Tresiba Issues

Thanks Juicyj, poor word choice on my part there. "Going Low long after eating" is what I should've said, as you're quite right. The last basal test I did was about three weeks and that saw my blood sugar dropping 1.4mmol/l across a four-hour period. I reduced my Basal 10% and found for the...

    Tresiba Issues

Hi, I was wondering if any of you could help. I've been having some issues with my Tresiba recently. Some days, I take it and it absolutely hammers my Blood Sugar and I'm going Low after every meal. Other days, it's like there's hardly any there, and I'm having to take 150% doses of Bolus to...

COVID vaccine and extremely high blood sugars

I had a similar experience with the AstraZeneca vaccine. Felt fine for about 9 hours after having the Vaccine. Then got 'normal' side effects from the Vaccine for about 36 hours. However, at the same time, Insulin Resistance started climbing, and climbing, and climbing. The increased Insulin...

BG spike when going to sleep?!

Hi JessL, first time using this forum myself, but thought I could maybe help. I had experienced this problem for about two years and have recently been able to solve it. I'm on Tresiba to, and the problem was these wicked late night spikes, similar to the ones shown by Levy in her...
