The ploughman's would have had bread wouldn't it ? Try a food diary for a week as suggested and I think you will find carbs creeping in where you didn't think.

I have found that sugar free jelly helps with the demanding sweet tooth. I use the little packets and make up a pint at a time. Then with double cream on top it is a satisfying 'sweet'.
Try to take it just one day at a time and be gentle with yourself.
If you get to see your optician to check it out, if there is anything not right they will write you a letter and send you to the eye hospital. This happened to me and it was indeed caused by being too high but it was good to be properly checked out.
