    Somogyi Rebound - Struggling With It And The Endo

    So got my latest set of results in as I go around the buoy again with another different endo. She agreed about the Somogyi Rebound Effect being the most likely cause of my Bg spiking between 4am and 8am. But then this happens... all my tests, except the fasting finger-stick, come back normal...

    For which there is no current treatment. Anybody in the same boat and get a different story from their healthcare provider or endo?

    Things just got weird(er)!

    A day in the life of my Bg

    OK, so decided to map my Bg throughout the day yesterday and here are the results. Fasting at Daybreak (7:30) was 228 (12.6) Lantus right before breakfast (15 units as directed) No real spike after breakfast (15 points) No real lowering of bloodsugar until 2pm Bg 124 (6.8) immediately before...

    At my wits end - running out of ideas

    Hi all, I was diagnosed about a year ago and have tried a whole bunch of stuff but can't get my Bg or my DP under control. Last month I had a really bad infection and spent a week in hospital - no doubt the diabetes played a part and I'm getting resigned to the fact that it's slowly killing me...
