    Just got in from DESMOND

We got home from DESMOND and my hubby was really positive (to be fair he has changed a lot and dropped about 10 kilos in a month). I am super proud of him but tonight I was talking to him and it was as if I wasn't there. It worried me a bit. It was like I wasn't in the room. Is this normal? I...

    Back from the docs....

Hubby is type 2. His hba1c level is 68.3. Is this really high? He has also been told his cholesterol level is too high (6.9). Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Can you recommend a good book?

Hi, My husband was diagnosed this week (not sure if type 1 or 2 until the appointment on the 17th of Jan) but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good cookbook or website for easy to make recipes? Best way to recognise your partner needs sugar?!

I have been reading some posts and seen that there are some fairly indicative signs of your partner/hubby/friend needs attention! What are your signs? I argued with my new husband for about 8 weeks before he got his bloods done but still feel awful for not pushing harder.

How did you react when you were first diagnosed?

What did you do? My hubby hasn't really talked about it yet but we're both super jet-lagged after our honeymoon so it's fair enough I guess. I have spent three days googling for info whereas he has kept away from the laptop. He tends to go all internal when stressed so don't want to push it...

    Gastric Bypass?

Would you consider having a gastric bypass to help your diabetes? I think it only helps with type 2 (but may be wrong) but is it something you would do?

Can anyone recommend books on diabetes?

hi, My husband has just been diagnosed with diabetes and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a couple of good books to read on the subject. I would like to find a not too scary book to buy him so he can start reading up on it.

Hubby just been diagnosed......how can I help?

Hi, we got back off honeymoon yesterday to a letter from the doctor confirming that my husband has developed diabetes. I feel a bit useless as not sure how to help, or what the next steps are. He has to go and get some more blood tests and make an appointment with the diabetes clinic. I think...
