Type 2 Diabetics wake up at 3:00 am ?

In support of the OP, I regularly wake up at about 3am, normally for a 'comfort break'. Have done for years now, and yes, it's always at 3 no matter what time I go to bed at...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

If you don't change the injection 'site' regularly, you will get lumps. I am currently on a further daily injection of a drug called Clexane 100mg (for blood thinning) which does the same thing of potentially leaving lumps, you need to change the site every time to prevent the lumps. Admittedly...

Metformin - a decade of stress & misery...

I have been on Metformin since diagnosed with type 2, a decade ago. Soon after, I developed a recurring issue of diarrhea, to the extent that I often had very little notice of a bowel movement with embarrassing consequences. I was also on a fair cocktail of other drugs for heart issues, blood...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

I'm aware of that. That's the reason I queried the previous posts assertion that one was 'better' than the other - surely an impossible assumption!

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Why? (especially when Bydureon is a once weekly application, and your suggestion is a daily one)

Gosh, have been on this injection now for over 5 years, was surprised to see a 'new' post on this thread! Not even sure what the recent post is about LOL

Do you inject in public? and how organised are you

This is an interesting perspective, and one I think deserves further research. I would like to witness the reaction of the general public on this action should the occassion arise, and you need to follow through your clothing removal. I would be delighted to start the 'tut tut' should you need a...

Do you inject in public? and how organised are you

When I was on Byetta (now Bydureon), I had no qualms whatsoever injecting in public. As has already been mentioned, if women can take their breasts out to feed their baby (an action now protected in law), I can certainly feel comfortable sticking a needle in me for a few seconds! I've never had...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Well done Doug. It took me 4 weeks before I was confident on the procedure for getting the injection prepared without the aid of the very good instruction booklet. The freedom of only having to inject once/week is wonderful - I'm sure the results will work out for you... You're probably aware...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Hi Sam, I'll post my answer here though you have posted the same question twice on a different thread too! I've been on Bydureon now for around 8 weeks, after being on Byetta for 3 years. The needle is about the same length, but it is thicker. Occassionally it catches me out, and I have to...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Now on Bydureon - use to be on Byetta... After being on Byetta injecions for 4 years, after a discusion with my consultant, I have now been prescribed the new drug injection - Bydureon. It really is an amazing development, reducing the number of annual injecions from 728, to just 52. The...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Re: exenatide once weekly injection The brand name of this new drug is called Bydureon - I have just been prescribed it today after 4 years on Byetta. It is a once/weekly injection. A bit more complicated to take than a simple 'pen injection', but as you only do it once a week, it's no great...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

I've been on Byetta for over 4 years now without significant problems. It only started to bruise me after I recently had a tripple heart bypass, and a new replacement mechanical aeortic valve - as such I am now on Warfarin for the rest of my life. This drug has made my injection sites subject to...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Speaking for myself, I spoke to my GP diabetic nurse about being prescribed this drug 2 days ago - she was surprised I'd heard of it as she only attended a seminar on it 2 weeks ago. On my enquiry, whilst I was with her, she phoned the hospital I attend (at their diabetic clinic) as I have an...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Thanks Big_Kev, that's exactly what I was looking for! Am attending my diabetic clinic next week, and am hoping to persuade them that this is for me. Taking Byetta 14 times/week is now reaking havoc with my tummy, looks as if I've been a few rounds with that Tyson bloke.. :D

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Anyone know of a link to the instructions to use this preparation? I can find the Patient Information Leaflet, and also the link in the previous post giving a written description. I'm after a practical version, you know, a picture of what you get in the kit, how you prepare it, how to load it...

    BYDUREON ONCE WEEKLY EXENATIDE

Have only just read the news of this new drug. I've been on Byetta now for 3 years, though after a recent tripple heart bypass & new artificial valve replacement, I'm now on Warfarin for the rest of my life. Whatever Warfarin does, it means that my tummy is now permanently 'bruised' with my...

Travel insurance - what's the point??

Actually, you're not. Your Ehic card will cover a repeat prescription - I know that for a fact as I've had to use that facility.
