how two conversation about the same result give you a different feeling

Had a call from the hospital consultant today to go through my test results which were done after the appoint as I attened a late cancellation appointment - I actually already knew the results as a GP nurse called me about some things (and she was very pleased with the HBA1C result) last week...

    Travel insurance with diabetes

Before covid always used Insure and Go - most times got annual insurance for about the £140 for just me. This time needed to use Allclear as partner on a waitlist for a hip so pretty sure it will not happen before our planned trip wanted to make sure we were covered. The price without the...

    Old fashioned treatment....

I'm with you on vials & syringes. I did change from Lantus to Tresiba so had to go onto a pen but at least I know from my experience I will not go that way for my short acting as it will not work for me. Hopefully it is just a manufacture issue than moving away from vials.

    what a day yesterday was!

@Soplewis12 It is this basal I need in half units as sure this is my issue but the consultant has said no. Fi-Asp I get in vials so have a half unit syringe so no issues there.

    what a day yesterday was!

@EllieM I will ask again re Dexcom (as yes aware the guidelines have changed or about to change) and pump but everytime in the past when I just ask the reply is often no try this (which often I have already tried) but I only seem to get a yes when I present concrete evidence which is what I...

    Type 1.5 Jury service

I know this doesn't answer your question but T1 been asked to do jury service twice once down south and once in the north - both times when I have mention T1 they have said no thank you we will remove you from the list - to be honest I was disppointed both times and thought surely all T1 can't...

    Basal testing

@Soplewis12 the reason why fasting is done is that you don't get any distortion with protein you may eat. Even for T1 that eat low carb still inject (but a lot less) for the protein eaten. Also on the DAFNE course told not to count carbs in veg (I didn't agree with this comment) but later...

    Basal testing

@thewestiesmum I am aware you have struggles and issues so would tread carefully re the basal tesing as I am not 100% sure they provide the full answer for everyone, as my requirement in the monring, lunch and dinner are completly different so think a 24 hour basal test or even the 6 hour slots...

Yes that is a largest drop - as I mention in my first reply I also did the same injected bolus (then I was on Humalog) instead of basal (then I was on Lantus) but I fortunately was aware after the injection what I had done so ate to counter this injection - is there something you can change so...

    Tee 2 Monitor time Change

You can if you want but have you tried a test soultion - I don't use the Tee 2 but aware many T2 like it due to the lesser cost for strips but for all the meters I have used I have been able to get a test solution from the manufacture to test the meter is working correctly. This was always been...
