Ok, quick update. Went to the doctors today was tested on their meter and it showed 8.4 which is apparantly borderline, took proper blood test too so await the results of that...

Thank you both for your replies, just got to play the waiting game now I guess... It's a strange thing, hoping that there's nothing wrong, but in another way hoping there is to explain the symptoms... I'll keep you posted :wink:
