    URGENT-Refused Insulin

I totally agree with you- I have not-and will not-share details/specifics about my former surgery to anybody-just want to leave and forget all about it. It was the receptionist who told me... A good idea to make an appointment-but I wont be their patient for a week from yesterday when I handed...

    URGENT-Refused Insulin

Hi-I had made a total of 3 (valid and non abusive) complaints to my GP surgery this year-none of which they responded to. Then I had appointment on Monday-during which I was angrily ordered to leave the practice because of the complaints and because I had asked on a local Facebook page for...

    Humalog Kwikpens keep breaking

Hi-does anybody else have problems with the Humalog Kwikpen? In the last 4 boxes ( 5 pens per box), at least 1 in every box has stopped working. Every time the same type of problem-I turn the wheel to measure the dose and it stops clicking and just locks in place- so totally unusable. At...

do not like the sound of your dismissive doctor- please try to find one who understands Diabetes- look on the NHS forums for reviews of GP surgeries in your area to move to. The longer your husband eats so badly-the worse this will get...he needs a Diabetes Support Team-and fast Good Luck x

    Diets and exercise

Hi There is a thread just before yours about "hypos after going to the gym"-and it contains alot of great info on blood sugars/insulin/exercise that should help you. I suspect your insulin may need adjusting due to the intensisty of your work outs-speak with your Diabetes team about this to help...

    Benefits or allowances?

Hi Your food bill wont be any higher than before- if anything-it should be lower. You cut out all of the rubbish and a good BALANCED healthy diet is all that you need-with keeping an eye on how any particular product may affect your BS levels. I got all sorts of bad advice when I was first...

diagnosed yesterday , told employer and OH app on monday!

I think it is a great response-shows they know their responsibility and want to look after both your husband and their safety requirements. Alot of employers couldn't care less! This OH referral will be a legally binding -reasonable adjustments should be clear to the employer after it too. Good luck

    Employment Rights

You are only recently diagnosed-and it can be a very scary time-I think we have all experience of that-so you shouldn't say it was OTT to go the A&E-it was the right thing to do rather than neglect what could have been serious. Better safe than sorry! I hope your employer understood when you...

    Not getting breaks at work.

Hi Gavin- Sorry to hear you are going through this It needs addressing -in writing- to your employer. Once something is in writing-rather than just chatted about with a manager who doesn't care- you find things tend to improve. Not allowing you to treat your Diabetes is breaching all...
