    I concur, less or no carb food low in sugar works really well it has reduced my sugar and l have lost weight too and yes do buy a tester to check what is good or bad for you. You will be surprised what you find, apart from the obvious stuff some foods will cause spikes that you wouldn't think...

    Code free from Amazon very easy to use , buy extra test strips . I asked my doc about testing and she said don't bother. But tbh they are easy to use , prick you finger squeeze a bit of blood out dab it on the test strip read the result. They are good to show you what you can and can't eat...

    That's very helpful, but maybe I should have also said I also have high cholesterol. So maybe the fats are not so good? Thanks for the help, I'll read it in more detail tonight over a glass of red wine not larger.

    I am newly diagnosed with type 2, and have have been asked to control with my diet. Being a scientific/ numbers kind of guy I bought a meter to check my level. My initial reading was 11.1. My question is that I have radiclaly changed my diet to low sugar/ low carbs more fruit and veg etc etc...
