    Omnipod 5

Hi, I have been type 1 for 51 years and was given the Omnipod in 2015. In August of this year I was given the Omnipod 5 together with the Dexcom G6. I also can’t compare to your pump but can say that I am very happy with my devices. I do find it’s a bit difficult sometimes to ensure the 2...

Looking for comments on omnipod5 and dex g6

I’m using Omnipod 5 and Dexcom G6. Changed my G6 this morning and there’s a big difference between the G6 and finger prick. What should I do?

    Sciatica/hip tendinitis

Hi, has anyone suffered with the excruciating pain associated with sciatica? I’ve been in severe pain for the last 2 weeks. Given painkillers and referred to a physiotherapist who advised 3 types of exercise using a resistance band. Not helping! Anyone out there experienced this?

    Dexacon

Hi, I’ve been recently put on the Dexcom G6 together with the Omnipod 5 pump. Absolutely great! I feel less scared of going into a hypo as I get a warning alarm and a continuous blood sugar reading on my phone. Have better control.

    No active pop alarm

I wonder if anyone else has had this scenario. I am having an angiogram today and been told that I can’t wear any devices. I was due to change my pod today anyway so I’ve removed it but not applied a new one (Omnipod). However I keep getting a ‘no active pod’ alarm on my PDM. Will this stop or...

NICE recommends "artificial pancreas" for 100,000 T1s

It seems to be good news but I doubt all of us will be eligible to get it on the NHS. Depending on whether the Trust in your area is prepared to fund it. I’ve been told that as I am fairly well controlled I probably won’t be considered. Expected that [emoji45]

Thank you! I agree, it’s pretty cool isn’t it? As far as the coronary issue goes I’m not going to stress about it until I’ve spoken to the doctor whenever that may be

    Extensive coronary calcification

Recently had a chest CT scan and test report states the above. Anyone else familiar with this? Bit worried as have been asked to make a GP appointment to discuss. Type 1 for 50 years.

    An update

I absolutely agree with everything you say, I suppose in time I will accept that this is how it is and compared to those that have lost their sight altogether we are very lucky. Just hard to adjust to partial sight when I have been so independent all my life and never had to rely on anyone. I...

Are you saying there may be some hope of my sight improving? I’ve been told it will never improve due to the retinal detachment.

    An update

Hi, just thought I’d share my story of what happened when I got a bleed in my left eye back in August 2020. So I had a fall when I lost my bearings in the middle of the night and fell back on my head. 2 days later I started to experience blurred vision. Called the GP who referred me to the...

    Partial sight and driving

Sorry to keep harping on about my eye problem but I wonder if anyone has had this scenario: Having had 4 surgeries to reattach the retina with silicone oil I now found myself in lots of pain around the eye and headaches. Turns out that my eye pressure in the affected eye had gone up to 63 which...
