Dexing my libre - blucon nightrider

Thanks Scott, I've put my order in, will be interesting to see how it runs with OpenAPS. That's a good number, I'm usually in the 270s with G5. I presume you still get full 14 days from each sensor.

Dexing my libre - blucon nightrider

I've been running xdrip for years with dex and I'm looking at libre options. How long does the blucon battery last? Is there any warning when the battery is running low? Does xdrip get a full 288 readings a day or does it have random misses?

People on CGMS/Libre: What is your target range and what % of the time do you spend there?

I use Nightscout for cloud data storage/reports/analysis. My target range is based on where non diabetes spend most of their time. My low alerts start at 4.5, so 3.8 gives me some wiggle room to turn it around. Hypos don't really start till under 3.5, they just say 4 as they think its safer.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I've been on reduced carbs for around 12 months and just got my 1st hba1c since going to Dexcom/xDrip/NS/Pebble around 4 months ago. With all the work I've been putting in, I thought I deserve to brag a little. I got a 43 year PB of 31 (5%), less hypos, less spikes. Trigs down, LDL down, HDL up...

    Freestyle Libre invite

Just got an invite to purchase Freestyle Libre. It's only been around 6 months since I subscribed and 4.5 months since I purchased a Dexcom. And now after 6 months, they say I have to make the purchase within 7 days! I think I'll tell them where they can stick their sensor.

Dissent at the JDRF Discovery evening...

At least you have some professionals in the UK that you can discuss/debate the whole protein/fat issue. The last dietitian I spoke to from Diabetes Australia said 'yes, protein and fat can affect your bgl, you should search the net for more information', clueless. Hopefully that sort of...

If you eat according to the Eatwell plate, is an Hba1C of 48 achievable?

For me, the more carbs I have, the bigger the roller coaster. I find it a lot easier to hit lower targets when I reduce my carb intake. Here's another guys high/low carb experiment. I generally agree with his findings and think you could get to 48 on a higher carb diet, but it would be a lot...

    xDrip questions

I tried a QI charger with my phone a couple of year ago, found it slow, hot and had to get my phone in exactly the right place for it to charge properly. I've got my bridge in a tic tac box with the 3d printed lid, so it's easy to plug in the charging cable each night. I really like the idea of...

40 days of CGM, setup and thoughts

@slip it's obviously expensive, the big variable in the pricing is sensor life. I am averaging about 3 weeks per sensor, but I'm learning with each one and should be able to extend that as I get more experience. I originally budgeted for 2 per month, so I'm doing ok. The sensors are also the...

    xDrip questions

Someone in the UK is about to sell xDrip kits http://xdripkit.co.uk/ Wiring is slightly different to xBridge2, has slightly different resistors which could affect battery status and must be using old wixel firmware as you have add the Dexcom Id to the firmware rather than providing it in the...

    xDrip questions

@tim2000s I presume you have found the xBridge2 wiring and wixel update here. It plays nicely with the latest beta xDrip app and give you a bridge battery status. Hows your soldering skills going?

    Abbott Freestyle Libre

@jimmax, just use a VPN to view their website. After postage to NZ, it might be just as cheap to get a cgm

40 days of CGM, setup and thoughts

What was so annoying about the CGM? The only bit I don't like is the sensor maintenance to keep it on.

40 days of CGM, setup and thoughts

Hi @Blackers183, yes, I do feel that I'm well in control for the first time in 43 years. I've decided that if I want to avoid any complications I need to have my hba1c at non diabetic levels which is around 5, not the 6.5 as recommended by diabetes organisations for T1s. In the last 3 years I've...

40 days of CGM, setup and thoughts

The Pebble is the icing on the cake, well worth it. You can see your current reading at a quick glance and vibrates on alerts. It allows me to concentrate on what ever I'm doing and it will alert me when GLs are moving so I don't have to constantly pull out my phone/receiver to see what's...

40 days of CGM, setup and thoughts

This is a bit of a rant, hopefully you find some useful info in it. I've been running my complex CGM setup for over a month now, so far it's been an interesting experiment with great results. I thought I'd share my setup and thoughts and hopefully give you some management ideas and incentive...
