the low carb - non low carb arguement

Although I have found this forum very useful - there is a mass of information and advice -I haven't posted much yet for fear of provoking another feud. I have known about my T2 for over eight years, and am fairly confident in my management, which steers a wobbly line straight down the middle...

    dry scratchy eyes

I always get dry itchy eyes at this time of the year - I put it down to car heaters and office lights going on for the first time. Eye drops help - but if you are an intensive screen user I would strongly recommend taking short breaks more regularly than every 50 minutes. I use a little free...

    Trying too hard

    Trying too hard

I have just been politely told by my GP that I will not be getting an increase in test strips (50 per 2 months). Oh well - off to EBay. I already know twice what I knew previously about diabetes thanks to this forum, and am much more aware of how the patchy...

    Xpert course

7 years ago I went to the doctors with a sore throat and came out with diabetes. At the time all the advice I was given was "go to the library and find a book". Although in the intervening years my care has improved considerably I still think, particularly after reading on this forum, that there...

    Vegetarian diabetics?

Yes, I have been a vegetarian for 20 odd years and diagnosed with T2 for 6. I manage on what I call a "sensible balanced" diet and metformin. I'd never heard of low carbing until I found this place 2 weeks ago. My last A1c was 6.1 - current 14 day average BG 5.9 Regards Richard
