    Foot ulcers

Hi there, I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. It's just awful. Foot ulcers are so debilitating. I posted this thread in 2015 and my ulcer did get better when I got treatment from the wound care clinic. Then I got a second one but it cleared up quickly, thank goodness. These...

    Low blood sugar at night

Hi, I read the replies to Purple Sunset and hope you are ok now. I'm not sure if you're T1 or T2. I'm wondering if other T2s ever get lows. Whenever I'm on the diabetes wagon, eating right and so on, I am prone to lows. I take metformin 500mg per day (250 in each dose). I have a bedtime snack...

    T2 and passing out

I appreciate the comments everyone. I just got more blood test results today: c peptide, insulin, and cortisol all normal. Still waiting to see an endocrinologist. Thanks for all the info Brunneria. And Sean, we have to use whatever we can!

    T2 and passing out

BTW, the second time it happened (or started to) I went to Emergency and the doc there said it could be a virus and that they get people passing out all the time. It accounts for 4% of Emergency visits. Interesting. He said the danger of recurrence would pass within 2 weeks when the virus was...

    T2 and passing out

Thank you Brunneria. Sounds like you don't think it is an insulinoma. I am starting to think that the cause will never be found but I think myself that it was a combination of the factors you cited. Have to be very careful to take care of myself. This forum is great btw!

    T2 and passing out

Hi, hi, all the bloodworm was done twice and is normal. They're testing for an insulinoma and the results aren't in yet.

    T2 and passing out

Hi there, I wonder if anyone has any information that can help me. I have T2, been in tight control since diagnosis 16 months ago, but have had two foot ulcers. Ten days ago I woke up at 3am absolutely famished and passed out while preparing food and trying to test my blood glucose. So I didn't...

Type 1 Neuropathy sx w/ tight control

Hi Audrey, My lower leg was numb for a while, prior to my diagnosis. It gradually came back to life following T2 diagnosis, being in tight control, and getting my hypothyroidism sorted. I have been in tight control ever since but have also had two foot ulcers. I think anything can happen with...

    Good readings except upon waking

Hi everyone, My A1C has been in the 5.5 range since August, 2015 yet my first reading in the morning is usually well over 6. In fact, it was 6.9 today. This was before I ate anything. I'm worried about this. Can anyone comment on this?

The 8 week blood sugar diet

Thanks Lorraine. I lost 20 lbs on a low carb diet and my diabetes (T2) is now under control with my last A1C at 5.6. I wonder if 800 calories would leave you feeling starving all the time? And what kind of damage ketosis does? I had to up the carbs a bit because I was hungry too often.

She also recommended compression stockings which you should be able to get through a prescription.

    poor circulation

I saw the wound care specialist today (for my foot ulcer) and I asked her about cold feet. She says that cold feet are often caused by sitting too long. She recommends that people use a timer to get up and walk around, even for a minute, every 15 minutes. I am going to try this out. Hope this...

    poor circulation

Yes thermals inside and out these days. Interestingly enough, I have not felt the cold nearly as much in the past two days. Maybe I am getting used to winter. The cold weather set in here about a week ago. I even went tobogganing today!

    poor circulation

Just a guess. I had a foot ulcer that has taken a while to get better and I think these are associated with poor circulation. Has it been a while since you lost the weight? Did your body catch up in terms of heat retention? I am quite slim as well.

    poor circulation

Hello people with T2, I was diagnosed in 2015, have my glucose under pretty good control, lost 20 lbs. and am now at a good weight, and am suffering terribly from cold. I have hypothyroidism but sometimes it's hyperthyroidism (not sure what it is at the moment). Yes, I live in Canada but even...
